It's nice to get into a division in which most of the opponenets are actually glad to welcome you as a known potential heated rival! So not like what the NW division was for this franchise.
Yeah but not crazy about the term "wild card", I don't want this turning into football either.

The one bad thing about realignment in the short-term? Not getting all those free wins vs Edmonton!

Backstrom is gonna be hit the hardest on that one (if he re-signs). On the flip side, we now have Colorado.

We need to start winning in Dallas this year before we play there more often starting next year.

Also interesting thing of note... Our new division next year... 3 teams are currently leading their division THIS year...

Chicago - Central
Minnesota - North West
Winnipeg - South East

Then you have St.Louis 4th overall in the West standings besides...

Wild are with: Winnipeg, Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas, Nashville, and Colorado.

Winnipeg is really turning around and I have a decent amount of respect for where their teams is heading, in looking at their future.
Chicago... Who knew that Crawford would suddenly learn how to stop a puck?
St. Louis... Remains scary looking into the future.
Dallas... After this year, all they have is an aging net minder who is getting slightly worse every season. They do have a good future #1 there, though.
Nashville... Weber and Rinne. Poile always finds a way and will typically have 4 good years to 1 bad year.
Colorado... Still not sold on this group, honestly. Bad GM is bad... If Sherman gets canned and somehow Burke replaces him... Yeah. Bad mojo for the Wild.

Winnie I agree with you on. Ladd as a captain is a little sad, but that's mostly just me trying to drum up some rivalry.
Who knew the Hawks would be so good in front of him in the first place?
St. Louis, yes, scary. Jeezus.
Aging netminder? Lehtonen? He is NOT aging. Backstrom is aging. Lehtonen is prime. Their age is Jagr and Whitney, and that's it.
Nashville. I agree, always good, somehow. Now just imagine if they hadn't traded the Flyers all their amazing players, and given them the incentive of an offer sheet. Yet they're mad at us?
Aves: Landeskog and the ****** (Duchene) will keep it competitive, but I agree on this one too, their team needs serious reworking. Remember when we thought Yip would be somthing?

Yikes. But, as some people have mentioned Dallas as a place of struggles, I will point out Dallas is not leading their division, and more games there means more opportunities to win. Just being an optimist.

This is going to be one of the toughest divisions. Chicago and St. Louis alone make the division tough let alone up and coming Winnipeg, an always competitive Nashville team and Dallas where we can't win a game to save our lives. Even Colorado will be tough, they always play us tough and they have a crap ton of talent to boot.

That will just make it all the more rewarding in a couple of years when all of our kids start to enter their primes and really dominate.
