http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/stor...jury-do-tendon

The injury that will keep New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira out of the lineup until May at the earliest is not a wrist strain, as originally reported, but a partially torn tendon sheath that could potentially require season-ending surgery.

Tex could be done for the season. Just keeps getting worse and worse for the Yanks.

Roy Halladay leaves after 1 inning and 27 pitches with a stomach virus. Supposedly. Few around these parts are buying that

maybe the lack of command, and only reaching 87mph on the FB made him sick to his stomach

Appel has been a man among boys so far this year.

Pirates really missed the boat on not giving in to the demands of what certainly would be their best pitching prospect. Just too nasty.

Absolutely devastating. There's no way to sugarcoat what a disaster this is for a team that designed its offseason strategy around a bounceback year from Tex.

I'd take Cole over Appel any day.

Cleveland tells Dice-K and Matt Capps that they won't be making the opening day roster.

It's highly unlikely that they can undo the incompetence of Antonetti and Shapiro in one year

I have very low expectations for the Indians

You have to understand that Antonetti / Shapiro are total dolts who have no clue how to manage a franchise and they have driven the Indians deep into the ground

I am extremely wary of any success until both of them are gone far away

If they gave in to his demands they would have been penalized for exceeding their draft pool allotment.

You know why he looks like a man among boys? Because he basically is.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Stick to the Yankees, or whatever 1st place team you decide is your new favorite halfway through the year.

So what makes Antonetti so great? Are you denying that he's a bad FO man!?

Antonetti and Shapiro have received tons of hate and bitter vitriol from fans due to their total ineptitude yet something happened this year which makes the haters turn course. One fan went so far as to say "It wasn't their fault". Who was the one pulling the awful deals, then? Acta?

We'll see what happens but don't hold your breath.

I'm falling in love (no homo) with Oscar Tavares more and more each passing day so much that I actually want them to move him to 2B even though he's left handed just so he can be an everyday player this year.

I'm sure he'll be up at some point before September though. I don't expect Holliday, Jay or Beltran to stay healthy all year.

Damn, Derek Lowe is still in the league? He could be a useful piece to the Rangers staff/pen if he can keep getting ground balls, especially in their park.

Lowe is also HR prone. He did have a solid stint with Yankees last season.

Yeah he was surprisingly useful. I wouldn't trust him at all as a starter, but as long as he's keeping the ball down you could do a lot worse for a long man.

Loved watching Wily Peralta have a great game against the Angels' "A" lineup today.
