Rangers sign Roszival

terms of the deal are still unclear, but hopefully the earlier reports of 3 years for $5.7mm were right on the money. Not a bad player, as long as he comes cheap I'll be happy to keep him.

(Rozsival)

Sigh. Well, let's be honest - we all knew it was probably coming. Let's at least hope for reasonable (*cough* tradeable *cough*) terms.

Although a number of my compatriots may disagree with me, I think this is a good signing for the Rangers and that his extremely high +/- and high ice time suggest he does contribute to this team in a possitive manner.

Im fine with it. Malik and him were a very solid pair for almost the entire season. Im hoping its only a year though.

dont usually agreed to terms mean one year. anyways why do they post it as agree to terms and not re-signed. is there any difference to why they word it like that???

Not a bad signing, as mentioned him and Malik were are most consistent d-men of the year. I would love to add one more pyhiscal defender to the D-core(i.e. Visnevksi) Or maybe we make a trade during the season. I think having Kasper out for most of the playoffs, and having Poti, Ozo, and Rosivial playing major minutes in the playoffs killed us, with their lack of hitting and grit. Hopefully with Kasper healthy, and the addition of Ward, as well as the maturity of Tyutin, I think our defense should be tougher this season.

Agreed to terms means he hasn't officially signed the contract but the terms of the deal are complete

I personally think a 2/year over 5 year deal would be a huge bargain for this team. Of course the length is risky but I think the risk is worth the reward in this case.

One year so he can become a group III UFA next summer

The original deal he backed out of in late June was 3 years/$5.7 million.Winter wanted $2.5 million while the Rangers wanted no part of that #

Rozsileetch !

Not a fan of his almost 100 min's in penalties this past season, but he is what he is.

eh. was hoping something more interesting would happen with him, but oh well. pretty much means Staal or Pock isn't making the team though.

edit: wow, TSN's article on this is rather stupid. The Rangers waited around and finally got around to signing Rozsival. yeah, cuz they were just sitting their doing nothing until they decided "oh yeah! we should sign Rozsival!". Nope, no ongoing negotiations or anything...not at all.

Yeah we all knew that this was coming. Let's just hope that the definition of reasonable does not include the terms "3 years".

The guy gets out of position alot, tries to compensate by using his stick and in the new NHL it costs him double amount of PIM's he's averaged, just about.

The proper way to term it would be 100 pim's, and all of them of the hooking/holding variety. Shall the counter begin on how many times he takes an obstruction penalty, when the Rangers are already down one man?
