That first part of his comment makes me think he's been drinking.
Vancouver is a very awesome city, if you haven't been you should get there one day. (the people are awesome too, they don't all act like the Canucks fans we know and love)
Oh I'm sure Vancouver is an awesome city. Haven't been there, but have seen some beautiful pictures of the area. No disrespect. But the "best"? Mmmmmm........not sure on that. Sounds like something DJ Ricky from the old Wild boards would say.
I will concur that it really is a beautiful city; one of the prettiest and friendliest I've ever been to anywhere in the world, to be honest. Once the people get into that arena though...ohhh Goooddd they turn into monsters...
I wore my Wild jersey there to a game a few years ago....maaaan, they were mean as hell. We were getting our ***** kicked too! Not cool...
Vancouver is consistently ranked highly in various "nice place to live" world data polls. not really a stretch, as it has held that title for various reasons and various publications the last decade or so.

Just some general league-wide stats I was looking at on NHL.com:
Ryan Suter is 10th in assists, 45th in points.
Zach Parise is 31st in goals, 49th in points.
Mikko Koivu is 36th in assists, 55th in points.
Devin Setoguchi is 57th in goals.
Matt Cullen is 45th in assists.
Niklas Backstrom is 5th in Wins, 15th in GAA, 22nd in SV%.
And in non-Minnesota news, Stamkos has 38 points in 28 games, yet is still a -3. Ouch.
Oh, and the Wild are going to be on NBCSN on Wednesday in "NBCSN Rivalry Night". With whom, you ask? Our one true rival, of course. The Detroit Red Wings.
Coach Mike Yeo said Suter does so many subtle things on the ice that lead to big things, it’s remarkable. Suter’s calming demeanor has become contagious, Yeo says, and his poise with the puck continually leads to smooth exits and quick transitions.
“You think how much of the game is played in the neutral zone, just kind of like a ping-pong ball back and forth,” Parise said. “When you can get a flat pass in stride, it’s a tough thing for a D-man to do, but he’s got the ability to do that, to get you going, to lead you forward and put it flat on your tape so you don’t have to take that extra second trying to settle it down.
“That’s a small thing, but that’s the difference between just tipping a puck in or carrying it on a rush.”
Makes you wonder, Wild took a big step forward when they got a steady goalie in Backstrom, now they have a defenseman who is steady and can help control the pace of the game. If they can get forwards who control the game through puck possession, look out.
Suter appreciated the pep talk, but there was one big thing Fletcher said that slapped Suter across the face. Fletcher estimated it would take Suter 20 games to acclimate to his new surroundings.
If true, if it actually would take the Wild’s biggest minute-muncher 20 games to settle in, what would that do to the Wild in such a truncated season?
“I’m sitting there thinking, ‘Twenty games is too long. If he says it’s 20, I’m going to try to make it 10,’ ” Suter said.
That's the kind of attitude you want to see from your players.
God we are so lucky to have gotten a D-man of his caliber. It is perfect for Brodin to be playing with a player like him. Everyone can learn so much from his game. It is amazing. We have never had a player like him back there. Now we can imagine ways to improve the second pairing without worrying about who is going to step up and play on the first pairing. This is what good team worry about.
In terms of a big metropolis, I've never been to a better city than Vancouver; in North America or Europe. Just an awesome city in terms of scenery, weather, and entertainment.

No kidding. And you don't even have to watch the news; the riots are LIVE!
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this but I just wanted to say Nick Schultz has been one of, if not the worst defenseman on the Oilers this season. I can't believe how bad he is and how many mistakes he makes that a veteran d-man has no business making. I wish I could reverse that trade...

I don't know how much of it is Schultz and how much of it is Kruegers stupid man-on-man system but it's not working for N.Schultz. He's getting exposed badly on a nightly basis.

Hows Gilbert been?
We wanted to lynch Schultz...we're ok with Gilbert. I think that says it all.
We had him paired with Kim Johnsson for a few years, that was good. If you have him with a puck mover, he's not bad. With Burns, not as good, as Burns is up and down.
