Come to think of it, I haven't broken mine out in a while. Should do that- or download and rewatch some of the other full games.

I was, however, under the impression that every Canes fan who was watching back then has the DVD, the championship roster tee shirt, and the on ice hat.

I'm just cheap. My only Hurricanes-related piece of clothing is a gray CCM t-shirt that I bought just before game 6 against the Devils in 2001. It still looks good too.

I've got the DVD and the hat, don't have the t-shirt, but I do have the Cup Finals patch sewn on my Cole jersey.

You mean like the 85-86 Adams Division Championship banner hanging at PNC?

The only thing I want Winnipeg to "win" is the honor of losing this iteration of the Jets as well.

That's harsh.

I hated that trashy "jetsowner" campaign or whatever it was called, but I wouldn't want to take away their team now that they have it. The guy who ran that site, though, I'd like to punch him right in the face.

They're too predictable right now.
Kinda hard to forecheck when you consistently turn the puck over ar the red line. A forecheck/cycle game presupposes a certain amount of speed coming over the offensive blue line, and we aren't even close to generating that speed with any consistency lately -- largely on account of a slow-developing and hesitant attack coming out of our own zone. That's been on display for several games now, against several different opponents, and it's not limited to any particular player having a bad stretch, so I'm inclined to think there's a systematic explanation for it. To wit, opposing teams have figured out that if they cover our wingers closely along the boards and meet the puck-carrying defenseman at the blue line, they can pretty easily trap us after the first pass and force a turnover.

As do I. Although the content of his message can't be faulted, it's axiomatic those terms have no place in this venue. We've avoided their use hitherto and still managed to make our points in an understandable manner. Therefore, I propose for all subsequent postings let us confine ourselves to generally-accepted hockey nomenclature that even Buffalo Sabre fans who may lurk here can understand.

Well, everyone knows Custer died at Little Big Horn. What this book presupposes is... maybe he didn't.
