That is the most frustrating part, because you know it's largely effort related then.

No, it really comes from him putting in effort and moving his feet instead of standing still and waiting for the puck while he watches his teammates get out numbered in puck battles. Stop being such a fanboy.

Just tuning in. So Ovechkin is the problem again I take it? When are they moving him for futures so the grinderz can spread their wingz?

See how he's playing tonight? He's paid to play like that every night. He doesnt. He could if he wanted but he doesnt. That's the problem. And it's a big one.

This may be the most boring hockey game I've ever watched.

He plays like this once in a blue moon. He needs to put in this effort every night.

How can a player making what he is making be expected to bring it every night...?

Except there's no difference from 80-90% of his games other than him getting an easy goal early and buffalo being flat as a result. If he didn't get that early goal he'd be crapped on for his play right now as opposed to simply for being Alex Ovechkin.

I'm sure it'll all be back after Buffalo scores an Ovechkin-inspired bank off the ass goal

No. I even thought about that before posting. But really this is almost like watching free skate at a public rink on TV.

Because the caps player, Backstrom, was in the zone before the puck. You can't do that. Surprised you didn't know that...
