Training camp is coming to Philadelphia. Novacare Center and the Linc. No more Lehigh.

Wow, jump in the shower, get dried off, and Dumervil's paperwork not received in time and he's a free agent. The NFL never stops...
Early indications are he wants to resign in Denver but from my understanding he's technically a FA.

And no more fans. They're going to set up some open practices at the Linc, but that's not the same. I've been to Lehigh a couple times, and it was great just how close you could get to the players and even the media. You could yell something (not maliciously) and the players could hear you, and they'd laugh or call back at you and such.

If the Eagles moved up to number 1 to draft Geno Smith and he turned out to be the next Jamarcus Russel I'd laugh really hard and then cry myself to sleep.

Agreed.

And yet I don't get it. Jacksonville has Blaine Gabbert, right? Have they already given up on him?

Gabbert has made it pretty obvious he isn't an NFL caliber QB, let alone a legitimate starting option. The more patient they are with him the more it sets their franchise back.

The current GM of Jacksonville didn't draft Gabbert if I heard right, the previous one did. He may want his own mark on the team.

The last new coach the eagles had made a controversial selection of a QB in the top 5 to kick off his tenure, perhaps Kelly does the same to kick his off.

It is a marketing ploy by Geno's steaks.

I've got no issue with them taking Geno Smith. He's being very underrated by the media for some reason.

He makes some horrible decisions. Trust me, my girlfriend's family loves WVU, so I caught just about every game of his last year. If you thought Vick made some horrendous decisions with the ball... well Geno will make Vick look conservative.

As to Mortensen's report: that smacks of "smokescreen" to me. Reid just traded for A. Smith, he isn't taking G. Smith. I doubt he tries to extract concession from Jacksonville at #2, because it's almost a certainty he wants Joeckel. Why would Jacksonville play that game? They don't need to do anything to wind up with G. Smith if he is their guy (more importantly, if Gabbert ISN'T their guy, and he doesn't look like he should be anybody's guy). Unless Kelly is absolutely over the moon for Geno, this make no sense. I think he is playing things closer to the vest. The Eagles still have tons of needs, and there will be 4-5 guys worth a Top 10 pick still on the board at #4 they could select and be happy with. Yes, he seems like a guy who is down to make a splash in his first draft, and he definitely wants/needs an impact QB, but I think he realizes they need to get the entire roster in order if they are going to win anything during his tenure here, which will not be 15 years unless the Eagles win multiple Super Bowls in the next 5-6.

No one laughed at my veiled Donte Stallworth joke (he had just gotten flow into powerlines in a hot air balloon) -- after everything else that has been a problem for him. Boo at you all.

Are you serious? 42 TDs, 6 Picks last year. If anything I'd say he needs to learn how to scramble more rather than taking a sack.

Big 12 defenses were horrendous, and he played my school, Marshall, who was very close to having the worst defense in D-1 football last season.

I don't mind Geno...but there are much better pieces at #4 overall. Give Vick and Foles one more season, and wait for a better QB class next year.
