Ducks fans should really take it as a compliment that Kings fans want so badly to see their team lose.....in seasons past, sure i wanted the Ducks to lose badly every game....but it just wasnt that satisfying when they themselves werent that good to begin with...but now that the whole hockey world expects the Ducks to do a thing or two, my disgust towards everything about the Ducks remains the same, yet i just have an easier target to direct it towards....

oh and....my prediction is Kings win 8...Ducks 0

If Bryzgalov fails and Giguere continues his fall back to mediocrity, they might be in tough for the playoffs. They have all kinds of opportunities for the sophomore slump, and among all of the teams with realitic chances in the West, Anaheim relies the most on their kids. If anything, Pronger adds an element of expectation that might be hard to exact from their young core.

That is a lot of "if's", and I fully expect Anaheim to compete for the division title, but it's not a given.

Oh, they'll split the series.
How would Giguere be falling back towards mediocrity exactly? When he started the team got 70 percent of all available points...that's alot better than mediocre.

That's not a direct reflection of individual play.

Towards mediocrity, not mediocre. Giguere is an above average goalie who may have peaked in '03. Last year was definitely a slip, though he was still very, very solid. If he slips again this year, he's approaching the medium for goaltending. Average goaltending may not be enough for a team that may struggle to put up goals.

I know I'll take some flack for this, but I do not hate or even dislike the Ducks. Of course I'd prefer the Kings to be more successful, but I don't wish them ill just because they are our main rival.

It's just my opinion, but I do see some holes in Anaheim's line-up that may prevent them from being as good as some believe. Losing Lupul is going to hurt, especially if Getzlaf, Perry, Penner and Beauchemin experience any of the growing pains that affect so many young players. If they continue to grow, then look out. I'm not ready to anoint them as the division champs until I see how the kids perform on a consistent basis.

I would have to disagree having watched him play almost every game last year.

This thread should be renamed to:

I'm sure he would think that the Ducks will have a night or two off.

I'm saying they split 3-3-2.

Gleason is the only one in your list that could challenge one of those four Duck players. Miller & Norstrom are ageing veterans and both have lost a step while Sopel is just plain awful.
You've got to be kidding me. Norstrom would be in any teams top 2 d-men pairings in the league. Do you honestly think teams would take O'Donnell, Vishnevski, Beauchemin or Dipenta over Norstrom? If you can honestly sit there and say yes, then you do not know hockey at all.

Oh **** right. Okay, Kings 5, Ducks 3, because of the shootout, and Giguere sucks in the shootout.
