Well we could use a few playoff performers... Like a 3rd liner, and a top 4 D.

Like vets who have won or know how to too.

Depends on what other teams do really.

No one buys yes we can.

Without looking at contracts. I could see Buffalo wholesale. Pominville and Vanek, Leopold could help someone. This could be ther year TB deals St Louis or Vinny. NYI with Moulson and Parenteau, prices will be high. Our competition could change in a big hurry

Well, it's a good things they are facing and at least sometimes overcoming adversity now. They need to know how to not just dominate, but weather a storm and come back rather than pack it in. Which they have done too frequently this year.

This. Any word on when he might get in the lineup?

Defense is one area where we need to be better. Also maybe a more proven player for the 1st line. I like Coyle. He shows signs of being a very effective player, but I think he lacks the confidence to do that consistently. At times he seems hesitant. If he can get over that, he'll start producing more. IMO

I think the Wild can be successful in the playoffs, but they will have to be hot at the right time. If they come out and score one goal a game it's over.

You guys realize he is a mid-season DEPTH signing right?

If you are expecting him to take over and play on a regular basis, then you will be sorely disappointed.

I think you folks underestimate how our 7 defensemen have been playing overall this year. Sure a team - we'd love to have 2 Suters, 2 Brodins and 2 Webers for our D-man, but that's not gonna happen.

While I am NOT saying we are the best, I ask you to take a look around the league and tell me what teams have vastly superior D-corps from 1-7.

At least in the NW conference, we easily have the best D.

See the thing is...wide open offenses that have a ton of success in the regular season don't work in the playoffs. So I like our grind it out defensive style to be more successful there and in turn the team be more successful in the playoffs--if we make it--than people might think.

Especially, when we can shorten our lines a bit. Play Suter/Brodin 30 min a game and keep the bottom pairing off the ice as much as possible.

2-7-2 right now against teams currently in a playoff position. Only 1 win in 11 by playing hockey instead of a skills competition. And that's without adversity like significant injuries. They have some work to do to prove they can beat the best.

Everyone is more or less in and out of a playoff position minus Anaheim and Chicago. Graspin at straws.
