Trade SK now why wait for the deadline. That had to be the dumbest play I have ever seen by a player. Go to the bench when the other team has a 2 on 1. Just give them the goal why don't you. Then another turnover causes another goal.
Nothing quite says "I don't wanna be here playing hockey" like missing a pass and then casually skating to the bench and taking a seat whilst your teammate and All-World goalkeeper are hosed on a shorthanded 2 on 1.
It's funny that we all look at SK as the bad guy here. Not saying he isn't but many things could be happening here and I'll just say two of them. He wants out in a bad way or he just gave trotz the big F U and in doing so gets traded out of here. Either way it makes you go, how did it get to that point? Some guys are still playing for trotz but it's not the top guys. Guys like Hali, Yip and Clune are busting it out there but what about the big guns? Not so much.
I'd love for a coach to challenge weber to play angry all the time. I bet we'd see a totally different team out there. Instead we have a soft bunch of guys who really don't appear to give a hoot about anything. Really sad an pathetic to watch.
SK's monumental failure didn't cost us the goal in a vacuum ... but it sure as hell didn't help. Depending on Hannan's injury we could be looking at a need for a 7th d-man called up from Milwaukee (unless Gill is suddenly healthy) and SK's play says we need a new forward.
"I made a mistake. I went to change, I should have backchecked, but didn't see the second guy was coming there. Even if it was a 1-on-1, I should go back, it doesn't matter if I was tired. I should have gone back and pressured him from behind."
1. That's what she said.
2. He didn't realize a 2-on-1 was developing? WTF?
I'm thinking Erat might still be injuried or so I'm hoping w/ his bad play lately and turnovers.
Here is the list of injuries this year and Erat is on it. So maybe he hasn't fully recovered from his back issues. Anyways, still doesn't help the team either way though but at least it might be a reason for his bad play.
