i like fayne. his game regressed a little from the start, but i think he deserves to be there, even over Zid. he's capable of making offensive plays while not being retarded in his own end. ideally, he could get rotated in and out with volch. imo.

@TGfireandice: Brodeur said pinched nerve was in his neck/upper back and caused numbness in his shoulder and arm.

@TGfireandice: Brodeur: "If I feel good by Thursday I should be fine."

@TGfireandice: Brodeur said he's been symptom free for a week and a half. He didn't do any exercise for 2 weeks.

He was playing fine until he got benched the first time and was a little shaky in his return, but I wouldn't sit Zids in his favor because of what we get from Zids which is something we have pretty much nothing of at D

Agree with you on Volch because he brings something that we have a "surplus" of

and, at the true heart of the problem, you nailed it. lou should have moved someone already, not sure what the holdup is..i think tallinder is the prime candidate as far as fetching a return...time will tell though

I see it as a "when time is on your side, you use it" approach from Lou

As much as you, I and the next guy would like to see a move involving one our defensemen made to cut the shenanigans of rotation benching, Lou will move when the time is right and another team is in a bind for a need at defense

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
DeBoer also said it's possible Brodeur could back up Hedberg Tuesday vs. Rangers.

we finally got rid of the last guy in this photo and now you want to start bringing them back?

We are not getting anything of value for Volch and Tallinder if we call around teams asking to take them.

If someone calls us then hey we can talk. But having that extra NHL quality D man in case of injury is worth more than the 5th,6th,7th round pick we'd get for them if we tried to pawn one off.

i wanted oduya back last year...his price just went up. he isnt the reason the blackhawks went on that streak, but he absolutely contributed. he's all-around good. zidlicky is 'great' in their zone, and putrid in his own. ok, maybe not putrid. but hes the worst on our team (eye test). i'd rather have good/good than great/terribad. the fact is we rely on Zid far too much- he isnt that type of defenseman.

and come on- oduya+janssen= more drunk sloppy photos. lou's favorite

Agree on all counts... You my friend have become my new favorite poster

Having Harrold AND Zidlicky in our lineup is a scary thing cause both players are undersized and get abused in their own zone. Zidlicky is playing horrible hockey in his own end and just for that brutal giveaway on the Habs 2nd goal, he should rest for a couple of games. Harrold can take over on our #1 PP unit and Larsson/Greene can manage to work the other 30 seconds.

I know we're jam packed on the blueline but Dan Boyle is apparently available and I'd kill puppies to him on our team. He's the definition of a #1 d-men who can anchor a PP. Despite his age, I'd love to have him on our blueline. Martin Havlat is another player who apparently can be had from the Sharks and would fit real well on our 2nd line alongside Elias and Zajac.

Those are two players that Lou should be targetting IMO, if that's not already the case

I'd like Larsson to start getting some PP time, but I agree that Larsson doesn't seem as comfortable with the puck as Zidlicky does.

I feel if Larsson gets put on the point, other teams would put way more pressure on him as soon as he got the puck. Where as they give Zidlicky more respect with the puck. Zidlicky is good on the PP as long as he cuts down on the amount of time he rips slapshots aiming for the glass above the net.

Can we label Kovalchuk a playmaking winger now ?

I replied to someone on the main board that yes, he definitely but it's just my opinion. But as a fanbase, can we agree on this yet ?

I'd have done a poll if I could. If you feel it's poll-worthy, well do it.

would be nice to get a goal scorer then. Boucher with Kovy would be cool someday but they would need a stalwart at C to salvage the rest of the game.
