While a 'rebuild' is an extreme option - I do think it might be time for a major roster shakeup.
I agree something needs to happen if for nothing else but to shake this team up... it's the doom and gloom dismissive crap that is being spewed in every thread these days that's taking it's toll.

Are the Canucks where anyone (besides the haters) where they want to be... no. Is everyone frustrated, yes. Are people trying to do what's best within the parameters they can control? You have to think so. Could they be doing a better job of it... I would think everyone agrees about that.

But to write this team off at the 1/2 way point of the season based on where they are with all the she-ite that's happened in the first 1/2 is also a bit shortsighted and reactionary.

After this next 2 weeks/trade deadline... sure, that might be the time, but right now they're right in the thick of things and if the PP was operating at a measly 10% we'd be home free for 3rd in the conference.

Anyhow... just tired of it, can barely even visit these boards anymore.

Swapping out Richards and Carter for Philly is like swapping out two of the Sedins and Kesler for us. Tool/build - what's in a name? - it's an enormous change to the team in either case.

That would be...surprising. Is something wrong - or at least not-right - with Schneider?

He hasn't played that well in his last 3-5 starts, but Luongo hasn't looked great either. I would only have issues with 2 of the 5 goals against Detroit but that's 2 too many.

Maybe they're showcasing him before the deadline? Who knows with this team right now?

They needed a change of culture in the dressing room and in doing so changed their entire team dynamic from a great two-way team who liked to party that was just about to hit their peak to an offense-oriented team that's more business-like and has a pretty bright future now with the addition of lots of great young players.

All we need is a little fix here and a little fix there. Philly need to change their transmission and fix their steering wheel, we just need to fill up on gas and swap out our oil.

It would mean Schneider starts tomorrow.

Maybe we can give Joe Cannata a shot? Settle down the big boys? Wouldn't be the first time a team has done that.

Thinking of bringing a "Once you go Zack, you never go back" sign. Will I be banished to puck-bunnyland?

I'll try to get on camera! Sitting upper bowl will be a problem though.

My printer can't handle that awesomeness.

They need to do something drastic with the PP. I would put 5 forwards on it (Sedin, Sedin, Burrows, Raymond, Hansen). Raymond and Hansen can be on the points and are good defensively and have speed if they need to get back to defend.

I would go with 4 forwards and 1 defender

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Raymond Garrison

Raymond can get the zone entries and can tee them up for Gary

I think AV should have rotated the goalies more to start the year, rather than consistently giving each guy long periods of inactivity. Just go one then the other, and only leave a guy in for two if he stands on his head.

Neither guy looks comfortable with the way they're being deployed right now. Instead of two elite goaltenders, the Canucks don't have any right now.

Between Luongo (or Schneider) on the bench, Ballard in the pressbox most nights, and Booth/Kesler out, the Canucks are missing 25% of their cap on a given night. It amazes me that Gillis spent so long micro-managing team-friendly contracts and then throws it all away on the goaltender/Ballard situation.

Schneider kept getting the net when he and the team weren't getting the results.

Makes sense to give it to Lu again tonight (especially with his record against Minnesota @ home). Schneids tommorrow.

Kassian (back) not on the ice for #canucks. Schroeder hasn't arrived yet but should skate w/Higgins+Pinizzotto. Looks like Ballard back in
Also noted that Ballard is skating with Tanev at the morning skate.

Luongo confirmed starter

Wild fan coming in peace. Most of us are pretty sure this game is going to you guys tonight, damn you

I have been wondering what is going on with the Canucks this year? You guys pretty much have the same roster and system, so it's a little surprising seeing the Canucks struggle as much as you have at times. If anyone could share what the main reasons for your troubles are, I would be intrigued to know.

This is how I want the lines:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Raymond-Schroeder-Hansen
Higgins-Ebbett-Lapierre
Sestito-Pinizzotto-Weise

Why is AV sticking with Luongo even though a) he's struggling b) we have Schneider?

It's like he has to do at least one thing that makes absolutely no sense

Injuries, bad defense, bad coaching (powerplay hasn't scored in forever ), inconsistent goaltending.
