Buffalo is a mess right now. Miller is shaky. The defence is not playing well. There's really only one line that is scoring consistently - Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville. Miller called out Kaleta through the media saying he needs to grow up. Not a good situation at all.

But considering they've won 9 of the last 11 meetings, the Habs have to take them seriously.

Montreal has consistently had problems defeating the Sabres. This is a team that has seemingly had the Habs number for a longtime now. This is why it is so important that the Canadiens take advantage of the current state of the squad and put up some wins. You do not want to be dominated by a divisional rival. Buffalo are ripe for the taking and Montreal is in good form. Two wins against them this week will go a long way towards building our confidence and W column against them in the future. Getting rid of their mental advantage is important.

The Sabres were playing like crap the last time they came back from 4-1 to win in the shootout. They had lost 3 in a row and 7 out of 8.

The Habs need to play smart and not like how they play the Islanders.

The sabres play a good mix of high tempo forechecking and trapping, which is usually why the habs struggle against them. If the habs can play their game and keep things simple and to the outside, we have our best chance. Losing to the Sabres wouldn't do much, but better to keep pace with Pitts and Boston at the top of the east

True that you can't forget the past BUT this Sabres team is so screwed up right now that if the Habs play 60 minutes of good hockey, they win easily. This is the same team that could never beat NJD, yet we are 2-0 against them this year.

Going to the game! hoping for a 5-1 win and a Desharnais beatdown on Scott.

Also no longer the same coach. Anyone know what style they play? Is it the same as it was under Lindy Ruff?

I am afraid that the habs will take the sabres lightly. It's like an Islanders game.

Go Habs Go!!!

This team is surrounded by a strong leadership group, no way this happens

To be fair, our problem with the Islanders is less taking them lightly than it is treating like the Bruins only to realize that you can't play an open style against them. Toe to toe they are more talented in the scoring department. As for the Sabres, I don't know it might just be that the Habs take them lightly but they just seem to be the perfect matchup to go against us.

Our next 3 games are against the Sabres and Islanders! We are doomed!!

Good to see Ryder will likely be back.

Wonder what's gonna happen with the Sabres at the deadline. There's some talk about how the locker room is completely rotten right now.

Their team this year reminds me of a team I watched last year..

Yes. Couldn't agree any more. A huge mess. But all in all, I still think their mess if even bigger, in huge part because Pegula has stated before he just won't can Regier.

There's no excuse why we shouldn't come out of this week with 6 points. Can't let the Islanders get away with another game and Buffalo sucks, plus we play them at home twice.
