Jim Fox: Stay or Go?

This guy is one of the worst color announcers in the league. It's a shame having him sit next to one of the best in Bob Miller.

Jim Fox:
  • Homer
  • Annoying
  • Talks too much
  • Takes over the broadcast
  • Shows 43 replays of each goal scored
  • A wuss as he can't back up any of his words (ie: turtled when Brian Murray questioned him)
  • Rarely critical of Kings players and the organization

While I don't like Fox and agree with much of what you say, you are obviously inciting Kings fans (with this and your last few threads), which is pretty reprehensible. You probably think that it's clever of you, but it's rather transparent and immature. I hope that the mods recognize this as behavior that is against forum rules.

I like Jim Fox. He has gotten more confident as the years go by and I think he has some good insights into the game. I like the interaction between Bob and Jim. I know he's not perfect but their are a whole lot of other YA-hoos out there that are way way worse.

on a side note Los Angeles is really blessed to have Bob Miller and Vin Scully I think they are just about the best announcers in their repective sports....I don't even want to think about the day Bob or Vinny leave their teams! Vin Scully is the one thing I miss about LA sports. (we don't ever hear him in San Diego)

I could say the same thing about you, but I'm mature enough not to whine and complain about it. Besides, you're going off-topic in this thread.

AGREED .... enough is enough, why do the Kings forum Mods let this go on here when anytime a Kings fan would start this on the Ducks forum the thread would get shut down by their mods ... Not bashing the mods mind you, it's great that they let open debate occur, but I don't see that as what HockeyNut is doing ... maybe you're just letting his childish behavior speak for itself I guess ?

Everything stated in the original post is opinion. Except for maybe the last point, and I think that point is probably somewhat true of every local commentator in the league.

The topic of this thread is all of the reasons why you hate Fox (not honest discussion about the guy, as you're pretending), and it'll be closed for that reason, anyways.

Meh. Hayward being absolutely atrocious (probably the worst in the league) has no bearing on Fox.

Fox sucks. Not Hayward-bad but bad nevertheless. Perfectly nice guy and all but his *** would be canned if I was running things.

Not true. Fox calls the guys stationed at the "truck" for replay after replay after replay. You hear it all the time from Fox... "Stop it right here guys".

That is YOUR opinion. I listed my opinions why I dislike Fox and if you can't handle it go view another thread.

Corrrect… it costs money to run a site like this. You’re a prime candidate for donating considering the amount of time and bandwidth you consume on here.

It does not matter if Jim Fox is a likable guy or not. The question is how good is he? IMO, I say "no."

He does not call plays and things as it is. He over emphasize things too much and sometimes the reverse.

Most of all, he says things you want to hear too often. No objectivity most of the time.

I don't think that Jim Fox is THAT bad, but he's not great. Who's another color guy you guys would want?
