I'm literally begging Lou to go after a finisher as soon as possible, enough with all those fancy, unselfish, team 1st passers. I want a damn rapacious, egocentric, me 1st winger !

Well Zajac doesn't look to concerned by his offensive stats this season, so you don't have to look to far to get the center you're looking for

I think we have one, he might be getting an IV from lack of forwards though. Unsure

The sad part is, I think Marty might be a better stickhandler and passer than some of our defensemen

Having Harrold AND Zidlicky in our lineup is a scary thing cause both players are undersized and get abused in their own zone. Zidlicky is playing horrible hockey in his own end and just for that brutal giveaway on the Habs 2nd goal, he should rest for a couple of games. Harrold can take over on our #1 PP unit and Larsson/Greene can manage to work the other 30 seconds.

I know we're jam packed on the blueline but Dan Boyle is apparently available and I'd kill puppies to him on our team. He's the definition of a #1 d-men who can anchor a PP. Despite his age, I'd love to have him on our blueline. Martin Havlat is another player who apparently can be had from the Sharks and would fit real well on our 2nd line alongside Elias and Zajac.

Those are two players that Lou should be targetting IMO, if that's not already the case
Thank you sir.

Zidlicky shouldn't ever sit. He's one of 3 guys on the team that don't look afraid to carry the puck into the zone.

On the other hand, this team needs Fayne bad. His ability to move the puck up the ice is really missed right now, and I'm wondering if that partly has to do with the lack of offense we've been seeing lately.

So a guy should sit for a couple of games, simply because he made a mistake?

I mean, I don't exactly know why some of the guys are sitting and playing and others aren't, etc. But that's just kind of crazy sounding to me. You're advocating the same thing you're frequently chiding at the same time.

My brain is starting to hurt.

if every player had to sit because they made a mistake we'd have no one to dress on a nightly basis

If Harry Young is called up, then are we calling up a D? Or is Young playing solely forward now?

I'm guessing Young replaces a fourth liner....which means....Janssen.

Some good quotes from TG today;

Quote:
Perhaps the happiest Devil to see Martin Brodeur on the ice for today’s practice was right wing David Clarkson.

Clarkson clearly has missed his good friend while he’s been recovering from a pinched nerved in his back/neck, particularly when the team would be on the road.

“He kept on calling me all the time,” Brodeur said. “He was like was worse than my wife.”

“I was lost without him there,” Clarkson admitted, “but he’s back.”
Quote:
After giving Brodeur some time to warm up, Ilya Kovalchuk made sure to test Brodeur’s glove hand – the arm in which he had some numbness from the pinched nerve.

“His hand looks good,” Kovalchuk said. “I tried to beat him high glove and couldn’t do it, so he passed that test.”

Stupid. If it's just for the Rangers game I won't complain too much if he's gone again right after like the last game. Still no need to call him up.

Anyone know Clarkson's stats with and without Brodeur in the line-up?

Don't need more D, but I'd love to see Andrej Sustr just because of the potential the kid has. Such a smooth skater for a 6'8" guy.

No one is really saying benching him for one mistake, at least I'm not. We have a guy in Harrold who can do what Zids does and we have a guy in Fayne who's one of our 3 beat dmen on the bench. One of them needs to sit for him. I don't see how anyone can argue that.

Personal beefs with posters aside it does make sense. Zids d has been horrendous all year not just one play.

Harrold should not be playing over Fayne.

Plus Greene can fill in on PP duties while giving us a better all-around game.

Harrold consistently takes a regular shift on the PK, for good reason, even when the penalty is on a forward. Zidlicky seldom sees a shift on the PK unless we're down a defender or two.

Maybe not historically or in total skill level, but on this Devils team, in this Devils system, Harrold>Zidlicky, in my opinion. Harrold is one tough son of a ***** also.

I don't know.

Harrold is solid, he's been one of our best defensemen when he plays.

Speaking of this, am I the only that covers his eyes and craps his pants every time Hedberg leaves the net to play the puck? (Besides the devils bench that is)
