#24 has 9 goals in 24 games, which prorates to 30.75 goals in 82 games. He WILL reach the 30 goal mark one of these years.

Branching off of this, we have some truly hilarious posters on our board and I cherish the ability to relish in our triumphs and wallow in our miseries together as a dysfunctional family.

If you believe in Hank (I do), then there is reason to be posoitive.

There have been many games this year where the opposition goalie has outplayed us. I'd venture to say more in 28 games this season than all of last year.

Once Hank gets back in form alot of these "problems" will vanish.

If we had the 2011-12 Hank in nets we'd have four or five more wins.
He may have needed more time than we thought after the lockout for whatever reason. I believe he is going on a streak soon and we'll collect 28-30 points in the last 20 games and be the #6 seed and beat the Southeast winner in first round.

Hagelin and Stepan are both growing right before our eyes into good top-6 forwards. Hope that trend continues

I am positive. Positive that this team sucks. But... I'm also positive we'll turn it around.

Now that I think about it, I haven't seen snowblind post here in a while. Has he jumped the Verrazano because of how bad the Rangers have been playing?

HFNYR Logic:
Pregame: "No game is an easy game.", "We are at best a 70% favorite to win the game", "We can't get ahead of ourselves".

In-game: "Lol, our season is done", "Gaborik and Boyle for discounted MSG beers", "we suck", "I don't even want to make the playoffs if we're going to blow and lose to the Penguins in 5."

Post game: "I knew it was going to happen.", "Our season is over (even though there was a >30% of losing)", "I want Henrik Lundqvist to be traded for the sake of his career"

Next game: "LGR!"
*wins*
Let's string together a streak now! King Henrik! Stepan is on fire!

You have your 1C and your elite sniper slumping horribly and looking many steps removed from what we expect from them. AND we're STILL in the playoff hunt. How's that for positivity?

Yay another 7th or 8th place finish. Let's be happy with more mediocrity

To be honest, we should be happy.

Our bottom 6 between Rupp, Powe, Halpern, Pyatt, Kreider, Miller, Boyle, Asham, Bickel, Haley has scored... less than 10 goals in 30 games between those 10 players in 6-7 spots because of the injuries to Nash, Callahan and Richards. That's about 1 goal in 3 games from our bottom six on average and it's been 1 in 5 lately. Our D isn't doing as good defensively and they're not expected to be overwhelming offensively. Henrik has had his typical .921% 2.3GAA season and Marty has been solid as well. We've had injuries throughout our lineup from Callahan, Nash, Richards, Power, Asham, McDonagh, Del Zotto, Staal and so on and we have our two best players from last year playing some of thew worst hockey of their careers.

We're lucky to be in 9th.

As long as this team is in the playoff race, I'll remain positive. In this joke of a short season, any team could catch lightning in a bottle and streak their way to a cup - IMO, the Rangers have the skill to do that. If their top-6 in its entirety at its best, they'd have an offense capable of carrying a team through several rounds. They have, when he's on his game, the best goaltender in the world. They also have one of the best top-4s in the league (McDonagh, Staal, Girardi, and MDZ).

It isn't clicking right now. It's been 30 games in a lockout shortened season. I'm not ready to give up on the core we've put together, yet. The potential is definitely there, but the lockout has interfered with our ability to judge this season. I think they should be given a legitimate season without HUGE shakeup. Even then, it's still 30 games. Teams have been 9th place at that point and have streaked into a good or great playoff spot.

The coach is another story, though. A lot of times, the turnaround comes from a coaching chance.

You're lucky you're a mod. That sort of logic, level headedness and belief in a team can get you flamed around here.

Should we want more from this group? Absolutely. But I don't know many teams who could have 2 of their 3 best forwards go MIA and not be bottom dwellers. A "bad" team couldn't do that.

Also the emergence of Hagelin and Stepan as legit 2nd line talent has a lot to do with it and is a huge reason to maintain positivity. That homegrown Hagelin-Stepan-Callahan line is awfully sweet. Uh, when is the last time we had a homegrown line of so much goodness.

Excellent line, no doubt. But my feeling is that Hagelin-Stepan-Callahan has a higher ceiling.

i think it just stems from the fact that there were much higher expectations for the team this year than previous years

I Love the New York Rangers Thread

I don't know if this is appropriate seeing as I am a new member and haven't learned all of the rules to this forum yet... but I love this freaking team. Ever since I was a young child, raised by a father who loved the Rangers growing up, who was raised by his father who loved the Rangers and was around during the Rangers v Amerks games, I have to say, this team is my team. I love this team through thick and thin.

Anyone else that likes another team can go away, because the Rangers are great!

Also, no negativity allowed, because we are all Ranger fans who love the god damn Rangers!

LGR!
