Away?

It will just shift to free agency talk about 4 seconds after the deadline.

IMO Connolly goes for a conditional low round pick. 4th/5th if he puts up any playoff points 6th/7th if he plays any games

i dont think any team will trade for TC
everyteam in the league has an AHL player on their team that can play as good or better than him. IMO he has absolutely no value. Not good enough for top 9 and not tough enough for 4th line.

GMs do crazy things at the tradeline. His caphit and salary will be very low by the deadline so he'll be palatable.

I think the Canucks go after him. They're crying for offensive help

Teams can also expand their # of roster spots.

Having a veteran who can play wing or center who has experience killing penalties and playing the powerplay well means some team takes a chance on him.

his skill has diminished the last couple of years. Are you trying to sell me on the ideas that the canucks would put him on the third line at center. IMO
they can get a far better player than TC even though it may cost them a 2nd or 3rd.
No way vancouver trades for him IMO not enough heart for playoffs

i understand what you are saying - im just not sold on the idea that ANY team
in the NHL would feel that TC can help them in the playoffs. He isnt tearing up the AHL and all those same teams could have had him for nothing when he was sent down- I know his salary is lower now but sorry have to disagree and its just my opinion

I think that the players that are expendable are(not all but at least 3)
grabovski
Kulemin
Liles
Gunnarsson

Kotska
Komi
If we bring in a couple of top 9 guys then
Macarthur(if he wants too much money)
Bozak (same as above)

Players to target
Boyle or Morris
Clowe
Brassard

lupul bozak kessel
clowe kadri frattin
jvr brassard macarthur
orr mclement komarov
maclaren

phaneuf boyle/morris
franson gardiner
fraser liles/gunner whoever is left
holzer

I'm not sure why everyone thinks Morris is anything close to a top pairing guy... Not to mention he's 34

Its not about people thinking he's a top pairing defender.

Its about him being able to handle those top pairing minutes with Dion in comparison to Holzer.

I personally don't think Morris comes at a great cost if Phoenix isn't within striking distance of the playoffs.

This.

Phoenix is the place where average goalies and defensemen go to get a payday. Ex bryzgalov and michalek. They are or have been roasted once they went to another team. On Phoenix's team though, the were considered top flight, in their respective positions. Meanwhile I guy like turris isn't getting any opportunity, leaves and suddenly is productive. Goalies and defensemen are typically a little overrated while in Phoenix, forwards on the other hand a little underrated maybe.

Well in all honesty he's closer then Kostka, Holzer, Gunnarson etc..

Unless we can get a Girardi or Bieksa type through trade, I think Robidas or Morris would likely be our best options. Sure they're older but they'd provide some leadership and be good stop-gaps till the younger guys are ready.

Side note on Girardi. I really hope that Nonis is trying to find a deal for him. He is pretty much the dman we need, New York may be in a situation where they would trade him (they have Mcdonagh and Del Zotto as RFA's and looking for raises the next two years, along with a bunch of other key players, they may not be able to afford Girardi). With him being a RHD and Phaneuf being capable of playing the Right side our top four could be pretty well locked up for a few years.

Imagine:

Rielly-Phaneuf
Gardiner-Girardi

Took a Frattin shot off the arm.

He apologized, on twitter, too.

Guess Reimer is starting next game for sure, then. haha

thats what happens when you make glove saves with your arms due to being in chicken wing mode.

looks like multiple shots to me ... unless they were shooting bowling balls at him

If Brad Richards is amnestied, do we give him a contract?
