Miami beat Michigan State today 4-1 to take the best of three series (Kuraly had 2 goals). They'll take on Michigan (Moffie) next Saturday at Joe Louis Arena in the CCHA semifinals.

The Moose and the Knights should both make some deep runs, but Demelo could report to Worcester as soon as the Stealheads are out, like he did last season.
So Jack Parker (BU coach) is retiring after this season..does anyone think this could factor into Nieto turning pro early?
I think Nieto's mind has been made up for quite a while about what he's going to do after this season is over. I don't think Parker retiring will have much of an impact on him but it will on other players as well as new recruits.

I believe he's been planning to turn pro after this year all along...
Edit: I wasn't sure which way he'd go for a while, there was some 'talk' of him leaving BU after last year. Someone mentioned something to me in January that he was done with BU and I asked around a bit and got the same impression. Parker retiring might help cement his decision, but it sounded to me like the decision was alreay made.

Lets say he goes pro in 13/14, is he likely needing a few years in the AHL?
I would think he would get a tryout during training camp. If he does get sent to Worcester they would probably monitor him closely and call him to SJ when they feel he is ready.

Hockey East All-Rookie Team: C. Hellebuyck (WPG), J. Gillies (CGY), M. Grzelcyk (BOS), M. Matheson (FLA), K. Roy (ANA), D. O'Regan (SJS)
(So, teams that aren't selected might have their graduating seniors and other players who want to go pro available to sign late Sunday or Monday with NHL teams, etc.)
Wow O'Reagan is PPG as a freshman? That's pretty impressive.
If they continue developing this well and keep their chemistry I could see O'Regan and Nieto being the start of a pretty good future 2nd line for the Sharks. Just pray DW doesn't trade either away for a plug.
