Hey, where are all the Bruins games in hand on us that makes them 10 times the team the habs are?

whouppi doh, pretty much gone.

Keep on winning and dont even bother about the rest of the league, that's what good teams do.

I think we own Carolina more than the Rangers, sans that one second period.

Orr on a line with Grabovski & MacArthur at Leafs practice

Great move Carlyle.

I might be wrong, but I remember reading that the Leafs are win less in games where Orr has fought.

Just checked it out, and they are 3-5 when he fights.

Not that it really matters, but clearly his fights don't automatically inspire his team as is suggested by some.

Semantics, but that wasn't a fight.

Especially since he didn't get 5 mins for fighting.

15:01 TOR Colton Orr served by Clarke MacArthur : Roughing - 2 min
15:01 TOR Colton Orr served by Clarke MacArthur : Roughing - 2 min
15:01 TOR Colton Orr : Misconduct (10 min) - 0 min

So, 3-5.

Where's Erika Kostitsyn nowadays?

I'd love to see her try to defend Sergei this time.

What a punk.

Like I said numerous times. The huge flaw of Gainey and co. when giving out players was to not get a good enough return for those guys. But let's get real, most of them are dime a dozen.

Could we have had more? Yes.
Should they have had more? Yes.
Are there any guys excluding McDonagh or Ribeiro that could be or could have been core players on a contender? Definitely not.

The end of the story is, for every player like McDonagh or Ribeiro who were given away, the management held on to guys such as Price, Pacioretty and Subban instead of trading them, and they now are core players on our team. I could've been much worst.

That being said, cannot be any happier to see Gauthier far, far away from this team. The guy's flaw is that he did not have any kind of a plan, and absolutely no long-term vision. His opinions were never challenged because he was a megalomaniac, and that's how you make mistakes. But in the end, his lack of vision is why he should be nothing more than a scout of an advisor.

Since Colton Orr was being discussed this morning (and his play, effect on the team), I found this article (by a Leafs fan)

Quite interesting: http://theleafsnation.com/2013/3/18/...-of-colton-orr

In short, Orr is not bringing much to the table.

What hurts the Leafs more than anything is their talent level.

They just are not that good.

If you look at giveaways, which kills puck possession, Montreal has 215 for the season. Toronto has 311, led by Dion Phaneuf with 33, Kostka with 26, Franson with 21 and Gunnarsson with 17.

For Montreal, its Markov 29, Emelin 24, Subban 18 and Boullion 16.

Common sense states that if you turn the puck over in your own defensive zone, you will give up more goals.

Orr has nothing to do with that. Nice try but major fail.

Leaf fans have been spinning this season as an affirmation of their 'big' and 'tough' persona, and Orr is their poster boy. But as the article points out, it's nothing but a cheap fix. A plug like Orr makes them feel better about their team, but he doesn't make the team any better. I wonder if any of them will realize it.

It's also brought out the slobbering trailer-trash element in their fan base, who now feel free to hope for injuries to other players. Disgusting.

Why he hurt the team? Because when he play with Kadri, Kadri have less pts?

Nice try? Major fail?

What are you even talking about?

The fact of the matter is that Orr does not help the team, he hurts them, even with his limited ice time. Not too sure why you took exception with that. It wasn't a "try" at all. It's something written up by a major Leafs fan. I never said he is the reason they are struggling. So please don't try to spin this into a circular debate about something that wasn't said.

Agreed.
The good news for us, is that the best thing that happened to Montreal this year was taking a licking at the hands of the Leafs. We've been dominant ever since, so in retrospect I guess we should be thankful for their big & tough persona.

Major Leafs fan??

Leafs fans can be just as clueless as any other hockey team's fans.

Blaming Orr is a nice deflection away from the Leaf's main problem. They suck at defense as a whole.
