Well, depends a lot on how LA plays. If we go 10-10-1, they'd have to go 17-4 to beat us (highly unlikely, but possible). If they continue their latest trend (6-4-0), we'd have to finish at 6-14-1 and we'd still beat them for the division lead.

I think this team can still get 6 regulation wins this season.

I wonder if they'll be starting the magic numbers thread on the main boards at some point soon?

Didn`t realize we are in such comfortable situation right now (regarding the standings). We are getting close to be the last old(current) NHL format Pacific division champs. While the Sharks are in town, we might as well ask them how cool is to hang the banners like these around

Now we have 5 games in 8 days aggainst very tough opposition, so i`d like to look back after that stretch.

But if we are still in that comfortable situation, i`d like for us to sit the veterans more. Souray and Teemu mostly. Their bodies are not in the 20`s anymore for quite a time, and they require more time to rest and re-energize them. I rather see them at their best form in the postseason than the regular season.

However, Norfolk right now goes through pretty important stretch, so we have a little shortened bench in Anaheim, but the juniors coming in after their seasons could give some spots.

So, yeah, i fully support giving veteran players some rest.

Stephens updated the lines:

Kyle Palmieri-Ryan Getzlaf-Teemu Selanne
Bobby Ryan-Peter Holland-Emerson Etem
Daniel Winnik-Saku Koivu-Andrew Cogliano
Matt Beleskey-David Steckel-Brad Staubitz
Sheldon Souray-Francois Beauchemin
Bryan Allen-Cam Fowler
Luca Sbisa-Toni Lydman

Beleskey-Steckel-Staubitz is some interesting 4th line.
Looks like SJ will be without Clowe, though.

Oh have you read his posts, he absolutely hates the ducks its actually hilarious.

I dont get how that would prove anything either? We score slightly less when our top scorer is suspended... i think that seems like common sense.

Holland and Etem in top6 are meh. The same goes for Teemu on top line. I see the 4th line good for hits, but not much more.

So let's hope the 3rd line wins it for us as usual.

Pretty interesting that Brent Burns is the Sharks 1st line RW. I knew he's been playing wing for them but not on the 1st line. He's one of the Sharks I actually like.

I like our lineups, 1st and 3rd lines look good, 2nd line is a toss up and we need that 4th line against the Sharks.

Sharks are 5-9-6 since their hot 7-0 start.
Ducks are 17-1-3 since their "poor" 3-2-1 start.

Sharks fans' comments about our unsustainability are sustainable. They really hate the Ducks for some reason.

Go Ducks!!!

Some of you need to knock off the "how crappy can we play" and still win the division talk. No bad habits. Take no prisoners. Just win baby!

Why anyone would rather have Staubitz in lineup over Maroon is beyond me.

Any news on Bonino and how long he will be out?

I too would prefer Selanne moved away from Getzlaf.

KP Getzlaf Ryan
Etem Holland Selanne
Winnik Koivu Cog
Belesky Steckel Maroon

besides having teemu on that 1st line as not great, not too sure what else we can do with these lines.
Ryan will once again be asked to carry a line and I think he plays better when he's asked to do that. Getzlaf and palmieri can definitely work together and selanne has to slot in somewhere.

Im just really glad the BB has finally understood that he can't break up that 3rd line.

edit: would've liked to see hillsy in net though, he's been great. (or his posts have )

Maroon is at a point where if he stayed up, or after the next call up he will require waivers. I don't trust BB to keep him up for the rest of the year so him being down in norfolk for a little while is the best thing for him.

Heard on a Bay Area radio station while driving today: "...and onto hockey; the Sharks play tonight to try and stay even with the Kings. They take on the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in LA..."

This is the biggest Wat.

Finally Etem makes the second line. Hopefully Etem can spark Ryan and get him going.
