I'll start it off by asking if we're doing an HFboards fantasy league this year?

There is one that was initially setup by Dr.Funk I believe. I'm always up for more though.

Yea that's the only one for us jays fans I know of. Not sure if it's entirely jays fans, just those of us who wander around these parts I guess.

I can't remember a Baseball classic I've enjoyed more than this years edition. Just fantastic stuff.

If someone like Janssen ends up on the DL to start the year, it's a smart move to keep Happ up and ready in case Romero falters out of the gate.

DL: Janssen

Santos
Oliver
Delabar
Rogers
Cecil
Jeffress
Happ

Loup in the minors (which sucks, but you only need so many lefties and Loup has options)

Then when Janssen comes back either Happ goes down or Happ goes into the rotation and they figure out what to do with Romero. and Loup would be on standby if Happ isn't in the bullpen (or if Jeffress can't throw a strike)

As unfair as it seems to Loup in this scenario, its better that we have someone perhaps unfairly in the minors (him or Happ) than it is we don't have that depth and end up needing it.

If I was Gibbons I'd give Ricky the first month, if the results are the same as last season I'd put Happ in the rotation. We can't be giving guys 2nd and 3rd chances anymore, this is a ball club that is going for it and has spent the money, if you have any issues sorry but you're going to take a back seat. This is all about fielding the best team possible. I don't feel comfortable with Ricky anymore

Janssen
Santos
Delabar

That's how I see the closer pecking order right now.

Yeah, my money was on Delabar to steal some saves early in the season while Santos and Janssen are banged up (granted Santos is supposed to be back). I'd orally forgotten Oliver was back.

What a catch by Sierra! Surprise LF starter and jumps into the crowd to catch it.

Sierra/Gose/Nanita will be a pretty sick AAA outfield

Not that big of a surprise, I don't think. He started the last game vs Puerto Rico too.

I don't know if Nanita will be there much in the future. He's older than we think. Like 30-31 I think.

Yeah but he can still rake in AAA and really there's no one else is there (Langerhans?)

Completely random thought, anyone know where Goins was assigned to? AA/AAA? We seem to be having a solid core of AAA players that are potential depth major leaguers.

Probably end up in AAA. I don't think he was officially assigned anywhere yet, just demoted to the minor league camp.

and yeah, that AAA lineup looks like he could be pretty decent.

C: Thole/Blanco, Nikeas
1B: Jimenez
2B: Goins
SS: McCoy
3B: LaRoche
LF: Nanita
CF: Gose
RF: Sierra
DH: Loewen/Langerhans

and honestly, I'm just guessing at that. It'll also be nice that they can finally assign pitchers to AAA without risking wrecking their confidence in Vegas.

Thats basically what I was expecting, our pitching there seems to be very veteran laden and filled with lots of power arms. The Bisons should definitely be a competitive team while giving us some decent recall options for short stints.

I wish that stupid Sportsnet.ca commercial would go away.

No matter how often they try to tell us their new website design is awesome, it doesn't make it true.
