The lowest paid goalie would be ripped if he put up Bryzs numbers. His salary increases expectations, his play justifies everyone in hockey, fans and analysts saying he has been horrible. Less 4 people on hf boards.

So who would our goalie be? Leighton? Boucher?

BAM, not a Cup contending team.

So we're losing our most defensively skilled center, replacing him with a minor leaguer, and losing the goalie in favor of...who?

First overall contending team, perhaps.

Let's calm down the knee-jerk reactions, people. This type of game shouldn't really be a surprise anymore.

what happened to winning 2-1 or 3-2. That can't happen with Bryz. Blame everybody you want but the other goalie was making great saves and
Bryz was not, it's that simple.

Couturier is 20, give him a break

Briere, no excuses
Brzy, meh, at least bring in someone who can threaten his job
Scott/Tye suffer from same thing Couturier does

My bad. I thought we were 0-3, not 1-2 against Florida. Sorry.

that is exactly why i think were lookin at a coaching situation. plus i thought bryzgalov had a good game. made some tough saves. we could not score. we had too many chances that we did nothing with. the thing that kills is how close some of these games are.

We will be 5 points out, season is done less a Hawks type run. We are done, now it is if we trust Holmer not to **** this up.

I thought Bryz was pretty good tonight for the most part......only thing I didn't like was his post game interview where he said he gave everything he could and they didn't win and there is nothing else that can be done. I know he is frustrated like the rest of the team but still don't like his woe is me/us lamentations.

And as is usual, the other goalie made more. At 12 minutes left in the 3rd, Lindback had faced more scoring chances as well. And he faced more shots overall.

It's disturbingly common to see the opposing goalie put up a better performance.

Lindback looked shaky as hell tonight. A lot of pucks sitting there. Bryz didn't look great but Lindback certainly didn't bail his team out.

yeah, i don't get that either.

it's pretty obvious for a couple yrs now that lavy has a man crush on danny. it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that he's still out there in those situations. anyone else remember the winter classic game when g and danny where trying to decide who should take the penalty shot? all you heard from the bench was lavy saying "danny, take it. danny, take it." unless one of them is moved/fired we will continue to see briere get ice time when it's not deserved.

Execution of scoring chances is not coaching. The coach can only do so much from behind the bench.

If Lavy isn't fired with the 5-day break, he's obviously bulletproof. I think Holmgren wouldn't have wanted to pull the trigger until his break thinking they were good enough to tread water. They didn't even do that.

Luckily we don't play Columbus this year......talk about an omelet in our faces if Bob were to outplay Bryz which would be likely

3.00 GAA and .885 svptg. We had chances, they had a goalie make big saves, chances only equal goals vs us. He doesn't have his 1 soft goal, we get a pt and a chance at 2. Team as a whole , less 2-3 guys were not very good. I don't get how you think Bryz was good with once again awful numbers.

He just hasn't been enough. You're right. He hasn't come close to performing at the level of a top twenty goalie, let alone justifying his salary. He made some nice saves tonight, but he also let in two very average goals. That just doesn't cut it if you're supposed to be a borderline top ten goalie in the world.
