At least we got to see Staalsy with our own eyes up in the press box. He looks good, healthy and happy. Even yawned a little bit due to our offensive game. He will be back in March I think. Just my opinion, no source.

Anyone else want to see Asham a healthy scratch when he's ready to play? I think Michael Haley has been really solid while filling in for Asham. He's also a better fighter than Asham, which is a role that he is more than willing to fill.

So is Staal at least skating? If he is healthy enough to go watch a game from a box seat, he can obviously at least see that far. Even if he is skating with one coach on a rink by himself, it would be beneficial for him to stay in skating shape.

Start skating with a CAGE on and get used to it so as soon as his vision is 100% he can be back in the lineup.

Guess it depends on the opponent. For tonights game I would definitely keep Haley in the lineup. I'm not as down on Asham as other Ranger fans have been. The games i have seen him play he hasnt been terrible. He would definitely be a serviceable fourth liner and lets not forget he has more goals than any of our fourth liners (one haha).
Your right tho Haley has been solid and can skate (and still a willing fighter I'm assuming)

Haley + Asham should both be in line up. Forget about Stu Pickels, Gilroy, etc

I'm with you, I'm not really down on Asham either. It's just that Haley has been pretty decent. And heck yes, he is willing to fight. He's probably our best fighter, followed by Bickel, then Asham.

What are we missing with Staal, sat next to Bickel in press box yesterday and looked no worse for the wear, wasn't squinting, or having trouble seeing, yet his brother says he hopes to play again this season. Don't know the details but in the old days he would be back playing with a full face shield, can't stand the secrecy around this team...what exactly does he have? I'm worried it's a concussion

He would not be at a game if it's a concussion.

Then he should be playing with a full face shield, the swellings down

Eric Staal on Mark Staal's vision: It's obviously not 100 percent yet. It’s going to take some time. I think he’s still going through the appointments and they’re telling him good things and that’s the only way you can go about it.

Vision, plus it was reported he did suffer facial fractures. You don't want to be rattling your head around in the corners (or worse) during an NHL game, cage or not, until that is 100% healed.

Apparently Miller hurt himself in practice.

J.T. Miller, who started practice by colliding with a stretching Henrik Lundqvist, has left the ice.

Taylor Pyatt has switched to gray practice jersey to skate with Boyle and Kreider in Miller's spot. Guess Miller isn't returning to practice

Just ah...of course. Why wouldn't this happen.

Hopefully Miller is ok.

Exactly. Both points.

Hopefully it's about as "significant" as Fasth's injury apparently was.

Tweets on Miller's condition:

Gross:

"J.T. Miller not hurt in collision with Lundqvist. Jammed his left wrist against Panthers, dealing with some tendon issues. Day to day."

Zipay:

"MIller is getting treament; said he left practice early because he had trouble shooting. X-rays between periods vs. Florida negative."

Not sounding very good IMO.

I've been shaking my fist in discontent way too frequently over the last two days.
