Teams must be desperate for Geno. The attention Tyrann Matheiu getting is horrible..hes a spare part on any team.

There's really no way Geno makes it past the 7/8 spot, so it's not inconceivable the teams ahead of the Cards and Bills start to like him. The knock on him is that he isn't RG3. The Eagles had him throw 100 times and he did well at his pro day today. Jaws seemed awfully impressed with him.

I think the biggest question is can he adjust to an NFL offense. Eagles with Chip Kelly might not be bad but to me Geno needs to sit and learn at least a year.

If Kelly is going to run the offense he ran in Oregon, they might want A more mobile QB.

Jeff Backus retired.

Which gives Detroit another option on what to do at #5

Some talk that they could move Reiff to LT. As someone who hates the Lions, I really hope that happens.

Really depends on how the draft settles or if they sign anyone before that.

From what I've heard before this, they envisioned him on the right side. Either at T or G.

Define mobile. Smith was the fastest QB at the combine.

I prefer Milliner over Fisher myself. If Joeckel slipped to 5th, it'd be pretty hard to pass on him though. I'd be tempted to take Ziggy Ansah ahead of Fisher too.

This is what I've heard as well. It's disapointing though, when they drafted Reiff, I thought he was expected to be their LT for years to come. He was the 2nd highest rated OT in his class and he can't play LT in the NFL. Of course, if he's not good enough to play LT then I don't want him to play there but I just thought the Lions got a real steal in getting him at #23, now looks like they should've picked DeCastro since Reiff might end up at G anyhow.

BTW, Steeler fans, how did DeCastro look in the few games he played this year?

Lions have to go with Fisher in that case. Matthew Stafford is going to end up in a hospital if the Lions don't try to upgrade their O-line

Yeah, you're likely right, I'm just in love with Milliner as a prospect though. I think he might be the safest pick out of the blue-chip prospects. I love Ansah because of his potential due to his freak athleticism but #5 is likely too high for him.

The last corner I was in love with was Patrick Peterson. Takes quite a bit of talent for me to be in love with a corner.

Peterson is great, I'm still disappointed that Niners couldn't get him back in the draft. Even though we got a great player as well...

I don't want to get my hopes up but the Chiefs trading down makes a lot of sense, especially now that people are coming around on Geno at the top. Jacksonville has shown a lot of interest, so that puts teams on notice that they may have to go to #1 for him. But what really might drive the market is the teams who follow: Philly's braintrust from the owner on down went to Morgantown to meet with Geno before watching his great pro day and reportedly giving him grueling workouts and classroom sessions; and Buffalo has absolutely the worst QB situation in football and their GM has admitted they're desperate to get a QB. Also, Arizona can't be ruled out. Another terrible QB situation with no hope for the future.

We certainly won't see an RG3-level deal, but I think if one of those wants Geno and can pony up a fair offer, a deal gets done.

Arizona won't trade up. They would be happy to take Smith, Fisher or Joeckel. One of the three should be available at seven.

I wouldn't assume that at this point. Jags look like they want Geno, Joeckel will be a Chief it seems, and another team will want an OT from 2 to 6. Eagles could use OT for instance.

Lions could use an OT...with Backus retiring that's a very real possibility.

Comp picks are out. Baltimore gets an extra 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. They now have 12 picks this year

I see them going CB with Dee, it is a need there right? Eagles could use him but OL is more pressing and Fisher/Warmack both look really good

You might be right that they don't want to pay the price of moving up. I'd agree that those 3 guys should be their top targets, too. But I very much doubt one of them will be available. The top two tackles are going top 5, I think everyone should agree on that. The question is whether Geno can make it past the likes of Jacksonville, Oakland and Philly. And I don't think Buffalo jumping up to #6 or even higher can be ruled out. If they like him, they'll know they should get above Arizona.

We won't know for a while which teams legitimately want Geno, but we do know now that the interest is there and that teams are doing their homework. It shouldn't be dismissed that X and Y teams won't take him.

So if the Chiefs don't take Geno(which I think they won't), I doubt he gets past the Jags.

It might be a smokescreen, but they've scouted him, had a film session with him, and interacted with him alot. They sent the cavalry basically to understand Geno. I dunno, I think they'll end up taking him if he's there.

These teams obsessing over Geno Smith should be having their scouts telling them that the possibility of getting a better QB is better next year with multiple potential prospects to be had.

I think Geno Smith is going to go #2 no matter what happens, unless Andy Reid is fine with drafting Eric Fisher. But if I were him, I'd still draft the guy someone else wanted and make the trade later a la Eli/Rivers in 2004.
