Did anyone mention that Dudley was at the nucks-wild game?

Considering MB wants a term player, who could he be looking at I wonder?

Sabres should have let the Oilers have Vanek.

I'd only be interested in Lapierre. Latendresse is way too injury prone.

I'd be willing to give up the first for a guy like Clifford.

Lapierre and Lats I would definitely approach in the off-season, homeboys who've grown a lot since leaving. Damn Jacques Martin.
And they would be an improvement over Armstrong/Moen in my opinion. Maybe not by much but when Lappy is on, he can bring some emotion to the game.

Hmmm... interesting. Maybe Stoner from MIN? What do you all think of Higgins play this year on VAN? Could he play with Plekanec and Gionta or at least add another top nine option giving ridiculous depth?

edit: NVM, looks like Higgins is centering Vancouver's second line?

1 year left I can live with Gionta to be honest, he works hard and is a great leader. The problem is Michel that needs to limit his ice time a little more, he no longer should be a top 6 player but can step in if an injury and would be a great 3rd liner. Just reduce his ice time a little IMO and get him off the pp.

My target

1-Clarkson
2-Horton
3-Ryder
4-Clowe

I don't think Semin will hit the UFA market.

Size wise Clarkson and Clowe should definitely be Bergevin's target's up front

Would love to see the faces of Bruins fans if we would sign Horton However I think he stays in Boston

Probably right about Semin.

Horton has had too many brain injuries with concussions and being among Bruins.

I'm all for adding size, but I would be weary of Clowe. Unless he comes -really- cheap, I think we should avoid him. He's regressing pretty badly, and players of his ilk don't age all that well.

Clarkson on the other hand? Yes please! I think he still has 2-3 good years in him. I wouldn't mind locking him up until he's 32 with a 4 year contract. By then he'll be regressing and our core will have aged well enough to be competitive in that time frame.

I doubt NJ lets him hit the open market though.

The only problem is that, like you said, NJ will do everything to keep him, and even if he does make the market, he'll be overpriced, as demand will be very high for a player like that, and the supply is limited.

Problem with Clarkson is were looking at 4.5 per year, that is a **** load of money for a player like him especially if he doesn't keep up his production

Clarkson would probably be the ideal acquisition, but like you said it's doubtful he even hits the market. The devils letting him go would be worse than the Rangers letting Prust go last year, and I don't think they'd do it.

Plus if he by chance ever did make it to FA he'd be highly sought after by a lot of teams... He'd probably end up being an overpayment by somebody.

Forget Clowe, guys.

Douglas Murray is the guy we should target hard. Bruising D with a physical presence we can definitely use on the backend. Probably wouldn't cost too much.

He's exactly what we need.

Markov-Emelin
Gorges-Subban
Murray-Diaz
Bouillon-Kaberle

That's a pretty deep D there. Nothing against Bouillon either, but when you have an embarassment of riches, something has to give. The kind of D we would need for a long run.

What about Beleskey in Anaheim? I'm trying to identify players who are a little bit under the radar but have a Prust like potential...

Gionta is on pace for a 26 goal, 48 point 82 game season. He had 46 points in his 1st two seasons with us, getting 28 and 29 goals, respectively. His "hit" stats are about the same, his +/- totals are a bit better than previous years, even though he is actually averaging slightly less TOI per game. His play has not "declined" significantly. He also is an emotional leader and is one of the reasons we are doing as well as we are. Having him and Martkov back has brought a winning attitude with great leadership back to the team that was sorely lacking last season. What does Gionta do? He makes the guys around him play better because of the heart and passion he brings to the ice. Even Bourque was playing far better with Gionta around than he did last year.

People need to understand that Gionta is the kind of guy you want for a major playoff push and run.

I really hope Bergevin does NOT trade Gionta.

Leblanc seems borderline finished. I haven't watched him but going by the stats and ice time he's not doing that well with the Dogs.

I'm not sure about Kristo, we'll see how he does in the AHL.

Leblanc I'm thinking more and more it's time to trade him before we really don't get anything back for him. If we can move him in a package I think now is the time
