Kumi-has had point of 31, 36, 57, 28, and now on pace for 39(full season). I think it's safe to say he is a 30-40 point guy. 1 fluke year doesn't make up for the other 4 years of evidence.

Stewart-19 in rookie season then 64, 53(in 62 g), 30 and now on pace for 82(full season). Certainly the 30 looks like a bad year...and maybe the 82 is a fluke year. But I think it's safe to say he is a 60+ point guy.

The difference of the 2 players is not Liles...who has been a healthy scratch over AHLer's this year.
Too much logic in here, not enough Stewart is lazy lol.

We don't need Kulemin. We are fine when it comes to defensive minded checking forwards.

I would look elsewhere for a deal.

In the end, it might honestly depend on how the rest of this season and the playoffs go. If the Blues can go fairly deep, the organization might decide that the leadership of Backes, Jackman, etc. is sufficient. Or they might decide that keeping all the RFA talent is more important to winning than adding leadership. Or they might use the playoff run to figure out who to keep, and who to trade off for a better (veteran?) fit.

Lots of ways this could play out in the offseason. I think the most important thing to take from all this, though, is that whatever pressure there might be to make an in-season trade isn't going to stem from finances. It's going to stem from making the team better.
Yea, they are definitely sitting in a good situation when it comes to contracts and taking on any salary.

I think that this trade is going to happen in the off-season if there is one to be made at all. The two teams just don't make great trading partners. I mean, Phaneuf would be the only upgrade to be paired with Pietrangelo and even then the Leafs would be crazy to trade their captain. Any other guy on the Leafs blueline isn't an upgrade for the Blues. They are essentially washes in a trade and they would be trading, just for the sake of making a trade.

Yes, Chris Stewart would be welcomed to Toronto with welcome arms but I don't see any traction until this off-season.

While I agree that those are realistic salary projections, I think the biggest thing for the team would be to find that veteran experience. You are taking out names like McDonald and Langenbrunner that have definitely been around the block. So you are likely going to have to spend a couple mill on vets that can bring that aspect to the dressing room.
Why? We have Steen, Jackman, Backes.... That all possess leadership. Langs was a scratch prior to his injury. So no real leadership there.

I really think that Frattin is a cheaper version of Stewart. Both have the physical side of the game and have the ability to score 25 goals in a season. We haven't seen it from Frattin yet because he hasn't had a full chance at showing because of a shortened season and injuries.
Frattin has never scored 25 goals in a season and hasn't shown anything as a 25 year old in the league. We can talk injuries and what ifs, but that is all it is.

If we were talking 22 ok, but 25 no..... I am not sure how you even say that, because it isn't true. He isn't a cheaper version of Stewart - not even close to stewart offensively. He has shown a lot less then Stewart despite being older.

If you want to take our top offensive forward - OFFER SOMETHING YOU DONT WANT TO GIVE UP. Or don't make the offer. It is frusterating as a fan to come in an HOPE for something different - but the same old rehash just is stupid.

Not even going to look through the pages, but I am going to take a guess on a proposal that was proposed and look for it in the prior pages:

Stewart for Kulemin + Colborne

The other area that might be a need is C. But I think the plan is to go with Backes, Berglund, Lehterä and Sobotka down the middle next season, so I don't think we'd be wanting to give up Stewart to address that area.
What about either a trade involving Patrick Wiercioch (6.5 205, 22yo shoot left) as a starting point.

I almost said Marc Methot (6.3 230 27yoshoot left) but I think he's becoming quickly a favorite with the Sens and I Sens fans would say no.
