aside from the 1st period in the 6-3 game i thought the oilers have outplayed the sharks pretty bad this year, considering how hot they started they have fallen off miserably, in hockey when someone is down you kick them, its been happening to us for years. time to start doing it to other teams.

I actually think the Sharks were a Raffi Torres hit/Roli glove save from winning the Cup in 2006.

They're simply too slow of a team for the Oilers, but the Thornton line gives us fits because of their size.

Lets hope we end it in regulation.

If the Oilers win this game, I believe we make the playoffs ... if we lose, well ... harder to say.

Time to lock up Horcoff with a Corey Perry like extension.

The sharks are struggling. No excuses not to win this game.

It's nearly 20% or 1 in 5, that's not insignificant.

This is a big spot for the Oil, they're playing well and need to attack the Sharks, they seem fragile right now. They catch the Sharks if they can win, it's a big night for the Oilers.
I agree that there's no point in changing lines that are working, but I'd rather they put Smyth on the Nuge/Eberle line than remove him completely. Smyth (despite the "he sucks now" crowd) is a better fit at LW on a skill line than either Jones (playing out of position no less) or Hartikainen. And if Belanger gets back, I'm assuming Hartikainen would have to return to OKC anyway.

Here we ****ing go boys.

Must wins. No excuses. We have the talent to get it done but do we have the drive and determination collectively?

Not sure but its good to have meaningful games in march.

That's tough because then the kids have to wait for the old man to catch up. Smyth is done.

Jones has been un inspiring, but atleast he can get there.

Man is it going to be dramatic around here for the next little while. This season has already been like this:

Win - Woooooo!!!!! Playoffs baby!!! Going to win the division.
Loss - WTF. First overall here we come. Fire Kreuger. Blow it up.

Now we're on the edge of the playoffs. Should be fun.

I'd say after the deadline is perfectly acceptable. Is social media ready for it? So sad that the Oilers have been gone for that long

Horcoff

After typing it that many times the name started to look rrreeeaaallllyyy weird.

When you have a team of Horcoffs, you only need 3 forward lines.

Are you referring to the invocation of the 6-letter word that shall not yet be mentioned?

These are the most "must win" games now. If this team ever wants to shed the loser mentality they need to make some noise starting tomorrow. It's going to be hard having Tabellini and Krueger holding them back, but ******* I hope they are up for it.

While i don't like Smyth in the top-9, both Jones and Harti have played poorly too, so i don't mind rotating different people through that 9th slot in the lineup.

Krueger is awful regardless of winning and losing. Shortening your bench to give Petrell more playing time is a terrible strategy regardless of what happens on each individual night.

I don't think Jones is up to the pace of the rest of the team since he was out for so long.

Then again, Smyth is an old man.

In addition to Horcoff, who is the bigger buy-out target this off season, Smyth or Nick Schultz?

Do any better-informed posters know if we'd be allowed to sign Horc right after a buy-out?

Once bought out, the player is ineligible to sign with that same team until a full season has passed.
