It's time to give Whitney a NHL contract and give him a try up here. All the guy does is score.

Albany wins 3-2 after beating the Phantoms 3-0 in the shootout

WEEEEEEEEEEDGE!

If we didn't have so many D-men Gelinas would be here already problem is its a numbers game, I do believe he makes the NHL squad within the next two years.

Really enjoyed watching Wedgewood in net via stream today on the way to the Devils game. This kid has what it takes and so does Kinkaid. Clermont also looks capable of developing into an nhl goalie as well.

didn't realize that Whitney was having the year he is having! Good sign, is he eligible for a call up?

No, he's just on an AHL contract.

Damn, hopefully we sign him. I remember he did well in the prospect camp too.

I don't think we are at 50 contracts though so it shouldn't be an issue to sign him at any given time.

Scott Wedgewood will be between the pipes for the #ADevils. He's 2-0-0 with a 1.44 GAA & a .950 SV% #AlbSyr

Anyone else laugh when they saw DiPietro's name?

Wedge was absolutely shelled last night. Let in 6 goals through two periods. Kinkaid stopped 7 out of 7 in the third.

He didn't play plus Matteau being sent back may be to open up a spot to call him up.

Well it was bound to happen at some point, I didn't see the game so I have no clue how bad the goals were...

He hasn't been on the roster for the past couple games.

LOL Albany got shutout by trash can Rick today! I bet that's his first shutout since being sent to the AHL too.

Poor Wedge. It happens, he'll bounce back.

Why no love for Clermont? He's done better than Wedge has, yet he only gets one start.

That's like comparing GAA and SV% of a Panthers goalie and a Senators goalie.

Wedgewood's team is awful whereas Clermont's team is pretty good.

Clermont has done better in the same sample size (I know, miniscule) at the AHL level. Not saying he's better, I just wish Clermont would be given another start or two.

Although it would make sense if Clermont's team needed him...

Anyone know why Josefson hasn't been playing? It seems like there's a few players who haven't been playing for unknown reasons and it's getting weird. I know we're usually secretive about injuries and stuff but at the AHL level? Normally they're quick to report injuries down there aren't they? (fully expecting to be rebuffed here, but maybe it's different with the AHL team)

"Do you know why [subject related to playing time, lineups, injuries for the New Jersey Devils]?"

Answer: No. We will never know. At best, the answer to all these questions is "We don't look back. We look forward and it was a decision made for the future development of the team and the player."

I believe we can shut down this thread and all other hockey related threads.

He's injured

The Devils were playing without Jacob Josefson after he left in the last minute of the first period. He took a puck to the head, behind his right ear. Kowalsky said it wasn't much of a cut, and he may have been held out more from a bit of a woozy feeling after being hit.

Am I right if I say Gelinas is getting close to have nothing more to learn at the AHL level ?
