Oh god tell me about it. My entire school is ALL Islander fan...except for one "not so big" Ranger fan.

I don't think it's any stretch to say that Lundqvist is a better goaltender right now. not even going by stats, he looked better last year than Dipietro did.

I'm not saying DP is crap, or that he'll never be as good, or whatever...I just think right now Lundqvist is ahead of him development wise.

Dipietro has the ability to be a great goaltender, but he hasn't consistantly shown that yet. Maybe he works that out this coming year

Our defense is extremely overrated. At least last season it was. Lundqvist was the reason we won so many games, along with Jagr.

Sorry, but there is no comparison anywhere anyhow with the two players that has them even close at this point.

I disagree. Although Dipietro had a better defense in front of him, Lundy did have a pretty good defense in front of him as well. It think Lundy faced about 28spg this year. DiPietro faced just under 27 in his 03-04 campaign. I haven't said DiPietro is better. I said that they both had very impressive first year campaigns. If you were told before the season that Lundy would put up 2.36GAA and a .912 sv % like DP had put up, I think most Ranger fans would've accepted that. I don't see why you continue to want to argue when I've complimented your goalie on his impressive campaign. My initial comment was that wins were misleading for last year, judging by the teams, and I got attacked. What gives?

You got "attacked" - you call this attacked? try posting on other boards... - because the wins AREN'T misleading, and if you actually watched the Rangers, instead of assuming by their team goals against, you'd realize that the defense was piss-poor, and every game that Lundqvist won was on his own. If we had a better defense, Lundqvist would have won 30 games before he got injured. He would have been going for 40. Lundqvist was one of the biggest keys to the team, if not, the biggest key to the team.

Should we back off the poor Isles fan?

if they say Lundqvist is overrated...then what do they consider DiPietro? i have never understood the hype of this kid. not just bc i hate the islanders, bc ill give credit to where its due. He's a very inconsistent player, and only has flashes of why he was number 1 overall.

Yeah the pick is starting to look more and more like a bust...or at least a pick that could've netted them several much more productive players.

DP has been known for standing on his head and pulling off highlight reel saves, but hes never been a real "winner" in my book.

The worst part about him is that he believes that where a player was drafted determines his chances of making the NHL, stupidity.

Like I said Eddie... he's "special."

It's Filk by the way... on here, and on there the Gretzky moniker should be a dead giveaway...
