To be fair, they were a bubble team last year who got unlucky then tanked artfully. Therrien doing better than he usually does is why they're a force in the East, but they didn't come out of nowhere either.

True, but I still think this team has a "culture" problem and I think it starts with GMGM.

Could be. I was hoping the Caps would go all Habby this year (good underlying numbers to give them confidence in Oates, crappy luck and tanking to give them the high pick). First part isn't quite catching on yet, and I'm sure they'll screw up the second as well.

I love how he has no problem with Crosby's no look pass to the front of the net.

Why do I get the feeling that for the first time in a LONG TIME the Caps are learning hockey from someone who knows how to teach a more well rounded and efficient brand of hockey.

One example is the break out.

It used to be one of the worst in the league if Mike Green wasn't bringing the puck out, but now the Caps look like a more thoughtful and fluid team in this area. Far improved.

I like it.

Its because Crosby has eyes in the back of his head.

Where as Ovi gets bashed for passing a puck where Green was a half second before.

They are really looking good. Crosby got away with a blatant hook behind the net.

Nobody better than 74 at passing into 8's skates on the PP. He's automatic.
