That was a whack penalty but if he had landed the hit everyone would be praising him for it.
I haven't been able to pay as much attention to the games as I would like lately, but is it just me or does this team have trouble responding to really aggressive forechecking? I feel like that was a big problem tonight, especially in the second.
Well.. you can't win em all and Sabres deserved the win, they played their hearts out and were the hungrier and more desperate team tonight.
...or they were the beneficiary of great goaltending, and a bad call in OT, and were lucky to make it there, being severely outshot and outchanced, and committing a plethora of defensive errors. But to each their own
Down 2-0 after two and climbed back to get a point. I will take it...no quit in this team despite several injuries they are still tough to beat.
Eller is coming into his own. Galchenyuk for a 19 y/o who played two games last year is a star in the making. He and Eller should get some PP time.
I saw some really really bad hockey last year, I am not going to freak out over an OT loss.
That was an unfortunate penalty. (not sure if the stick made contact with the Sabres player).
The attempted hit was an acceptable play. If he makes the hit then he destroys the player. He missed the hit yet still broke up the play. The only downfall was the supposed highstick which was purely accidental.
So people should not be allowed to say it when a player makes a mistake, even if we love him and he's playing very well??? What are you expecting people to say? "Awesome penalty PK! The way he entered into the penalty box was so spectacular! Oh and by the way, that penalty cost us the game but who cares!"
It wasn't even worthy of being called a penalty and if I'm Subban I'm just trying not to lose it on the Ref's head... so he calmly skated away.
I can see them missing that high stick since it happened so fast that it looked like a high stick. But the issue is at the end of regulation Gallagher is grabbed and held onto but they decide that is fine. They give Buffalo two PP chances but let holding go on in the third when Montreal is making the come back.
Yes. Inconsistent and reactionary calls.
I really, really want to see the NHL, go back to a one referee system.
I couldn't care less if we lose when we have to lose. When we're outplayed by much better and so on.
But going with the big hit in OT? Are you kidding me? That was a dumb play no matter how you look at it.
And are people blind? Don't you see his stick touches Pysyk's visor?
Whitesnake, although I often respect your posts, you are mistaken on this occasion. There was no high stick. It was a phantom call....though difficult to see otherwise at that speed for a referee. Similarly, I will not fault P.K. for not foreseeing that he was going to be called for a phantom high stick by the ref.
