He finished at 57% tonight sooo...

On a seperate note, we can't even tank right.
The run for a pick between 8-12 begins, thus missing out on all the top forwards this year.

I'll take the win (reluctantly).

I was only able to watch 1/2 of the 2nd and all of the 3rd but based on those 2 periods, no way Buffalo deserved to win this one.

But that's hockey, right?

Thanks Jhonas. Your spatzmatic (sp?) play made the win possible.

Enroth.... when considering the game situation/clock... that was the save of the year in the NHL IMO

He was 8 for 14 hardly bad and best FO% tonight out of all forwards on Sabres. Agree though he was bad in his own zone tonight. Definitely didn't have a good game.

Montreal should have won. Sabres played a good 20 mins and got a big break in OT (though really with our PP, it might have been a break for Montreal to go shorthanded )

I think Hodgson's defensive shortcomings are blown out of proportion at times, but tonight he was awful. He gave up on the Habs 1st goal and gave the puck away that led to another glorious chance by Montreal.

Why are people talking about the playoffs?! You cannot play 20 minutes per night and make the playoffs.

Ugly - Vanek getting hurt again because the coaches keep insisting on putting our best player in front of the net while he takes a beating and pucks to his body. I get it, he's great in front of the net but he's better when he's 100% which he rarely ever is as the season progresses.

That's what I was thinking:

Refs tried to throw the game Montreal's way by giving the Sabres a PP in OT.

But apparently, OT is OTT time!

I get the desire for a top pick but I'll always root for the Sabres to win. You all feel the same way. Admit it, you're fans, not logical. As long as there is hope, you hold out dreams of making the playoffs, and then, who knows. Yeah, it isn't smart but who said any of us were. i men we are rooting for this team GO SABRES!

Maybe Vanek should be put in a big plexiglass box that he can skate around in, like a Pope-mobile kinda thing. Is that legal?

I don't know if there are any stats to support this claim. But I think at least 50% of Vaneks career goals are within 5-6 feet of the net.

Vanek in close and around the net has made him a multimillionaire. He's one of the best in the league at it. Don't change a freakin thing.

Would be nice if you gave an explanation.

Vanek isn't Holmstrom, he doesn't have to stick himself in front of the net at all times to have value. He's got the best shot on this team, how about we utilize it more and allow him to see the puck more often on the PP?

It's absolutely a reason while Vanek is always playing hurt by the way.

Ennis floating out in outer space during the tying goal was laughably terrible.

It's astounding how bad this team is with leads. It's not even fun to joke about, it's just pathetic.

That said, they did a good job getting the lead.

It's good to see wins and I'll always root for that outcome while watching, even though I'm fully in the "let's nail down last place" camp.

Enroth's been a lot better, though I'm still not sold on him being an NHL tender.

I was rooting for them to lose in regulation. I'm of the opinion that the season is already lost, so the way to salvage some good out of this year is to get a top pick. I'm willing to forego the instant gratification of a meaningless win for what I believe would be greater long-term success.
