Boy, was McDonald ever vigilant on that play? Good save.

Seems like they are letting everything go unless its ridiculously obvious (didn't see a replay, but I'm assuming that Bergy embellished a bit to make it more obvious). I've seen slashes, holds, tons of trips, and some offsides that usually would be called. As long as they are consistent, I'm cool with it.

Reaves is much more effective than other tough guys. Great boardplay.

Let's get one on this PP

Since you said this, I've noticed three separate plays that would have been interference calls 6 weeks ago.

The injury was probably a blessing for McDonald.

He's skating well.

Pretty good period. We should probably have one by now with all the great chances we've had. Combination of some bad choices and great saves by Schneider.

I remember when Vancouver was the best transition team in the West.

They look brutal.

Not quite playoff hockey, but close. Fun first period to watch.

Shot discrepancy aside, that period was ugly as hell. Tons of broken plays in the defensive and neutral zones, very few pucks getting in deep, and almost no clean puck movement. Ugly, ugly hockey.
