Haha. Yeah man I'm pretty much one of those people who says whatever.

I think we all (forgot who it was) talked about this a while back, but going to funerals is the worst for me. Honestly, most uncomfortable and awkward thing ever, I can't be that serious for that long.

I remember a friend's funeral, who was a big metalhead and motorbiker, etc. Everyone showed up in black suits and dresses. Myself and my friend's brother showed up in slayer shirts and those metally stone washed jeans. Everyone told us to get out, but the father was like "He liked Slayer!" and pretty much said how we did good on the passed friend.

I get bothered by the fact that when my friend passed away, all these girls showed up sobbing and throwing themselves on everyone there and looking for pity when they didn't even know him. I mean, he ****ed a couple of them but that was it. When people die, you always get those other people who act like they were their closest friend. That perturbs me.

clever way of side stepping my show of affection. Why does everyone do this to me?

Your empathizing of someone who suffers physical ailments due to trouble with drugs (e.g. LW). I knew you were being at least partly genuine but it would have also been a spot where you could have reinforced your point about how people who have trouble with drugs deserves empathy still.

Yep. Me and my mother had this conversation recently. When we both die we want closed services so the people who are **** to use while we're alive can't try and "make amends" when we're dead.

If I have things my way i'd be cremated and have a small memorial service with my close friends and family.

Firstly, you're being way too defensive.

Secondly, there is a huge difference between empathy and sympathy. I said I had empathy for your past pill use.

That **** pisses me off too much. They're looking for a quick get off. When I die, no one's gonna even know.

Haven't had a death in the family in quite some time. Not going to be a good next ten years or so, though.

I've been dragged to wakes of people I never knew because my idiot friend says she can go it alone or my idiot parent thought it mattered that someone that isn't known by anyone is there. Wakes bother me in the sense that it's basically a show to have people look at a dead person.

Meh. Doesn't bother me. I've already accepted that my existence is totally inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. When I die, I die.
