Just an example of a center who needs to be feed more than he feed his linemates.

And if he lead to team at center for assist , means he might not sucked at it either!!

I've always believed in Eller, but since Cunneyworth was the coach last year he's been hogging the puck. Funny how he's gone from a player who dishes it too much to a shoot-first player.

That's not true. It started before Cunneyworth, it began last year with Martin as the coach. In his first year Eller was making so many great passes to his wingers, trouble is guys like Pyatt couldn't do anything with his passes. I believe that after that, he started to pass less. Yet, I don't think he is a puck-hogger at all, far from it. His problem right now when it comes to passes is that he too often waits too long to make the perfect pass, he is getting better at it though. He is/will be fine.

Eller needs a playmaking winger to be fully effective. It's rare to see a shot-first centre, but its not unheard of. I think that while he does need to improve his vision and play making, it doesn't mean he doesn't use his linemates. Look at the goal from Dumont, Eller waits and goes for the slot when the time is right. Now imagine instead of Dumont its a legit playmaking winger. I think Eller could have alot of success as a #2C if he has the right wings to supplement his game. A player who is that physically fit, and that talented defensively would be a great top6 Centre. That being said he's a #3 now and in the depth chart, and there's no rush to promote him (except for on the PP )

Another awesome game by Eller.....with Armstrong.

Oh god, when MT will realize that Eller is much better than DD and he should be the one on the PP and with Gallagher or Pacioretty!

Another assist for that horrible puck hog Eller.

And yes, Galchenyuk is a part of his success. The two of them are fantastic together.

I don't think Eller realizes how powerful he is when he builds up speed while rushing the puck. He really dominates out there and hopefully his new found confidence will allow him to drive with the puck to the middle and shoot or create plays.

Another really good game by him. Also played 17 minutes, so he basically got 2nd line C minutes.

Ok its time for him to play more 5on 5 and the PP. I can`t believe he is not on the powerplay...

Lars Eller has been unreal lately. He's everywhere. He's having a breakout season and really showing what he's got.

Seriously, the way he is playing in the past 10-15 games, he has nothing to envy Plekanec or DD.

Give him 2 decent wingers and PP and his production will be pretty close to our 2 first centers.

EDIT: Actually, he would probably have more points than Plekanec and Desharnais since he's only 4 pts behind Plekanec and tied with DD, with 2 games less.

Big time. It showed in him breaking out and taking it himself all the way to the Sabres zone multiple times in the 3rd alone.

I was at the game tonight and thought Eller was by far our best player. He needs to play with better wingers now and get PP time.

I have to say, I was one who thought Eller would only become at best a very good third line checking center. After watching the way he's been playing the past month, nothing tells me he can't become that #1 center we've all been looking for. Think about having a one two punch with Gally and Eller, it would be like a Crosby Malkin duo lite!

Great to see Eller doing so well!

I'm not opposed to giving him PP time at some point, but I don't see the need to force the issue. The PP has been scoring at a very decent 20%. None of the current top 6 PP forwards (top 7 with a healthy Bourque) have been liabilities. Let Eller keep focusing on his ES play for now, he's been doing well, but there's still room to grow.

As I said a few weeks ago, Eller is seriously making a run at the #1 center position. He is dominating out there, and he's also starting to make his linemates better.

We saw flashes of Eller like this in the past. When he has the confidence to dangle guys in his own zone, and use his size to fend off players, he's truly a sight to behold. If he play like that more often than not, then he's a quality 1st line centre. The only question for people that have followed him is his consistency. That will determine what kind of career he has, but we all know what he is capable of.
