Would require a top six center who can score clutch goals in the playoffs, prefferably a top 3 candidate for the Calder at one point.

Calgary would have to overpay, and I don't see why they would subtract assets at this point in time of their franchise.

More than any Calgary fan would be willing to pay.

Henriques value to us > than the rest of the league.

Henrique is one of those players that each team has, in which, they're far too valuable to trade. For example, the Canucks have Jannik Hansen who is too valuable to us to even think about trading. It would take an overpayment to even get a chance at Henrique at this point in time, and quite frankly, that shouldn't be Calgary's interests right now.

As a Devils fan I'd ask for Sven Bartschi and Mikael Backlund.

If I'm Calgary I take that and run. Henrique is a very special player.

I like Henrique, but I would most definitely not take that and run. Bartschi could be special and Backlund is getting closer to that defensively sound second line center all the time. But yes, they'd want something like that.

The thought of Brown being traded, let alone to a team that they're going to be in the same division with come next season because of the new realignment is quite silly. Calgary would once again, have to overpay. Asking price would probably start with Sven, and keep adding from there.

No we really wouldn't maybe you would give up something like Nino + Bailey but we wouldn't.

I wouldn't make this trade but I agree - this is fair value and what NJ would ask for in return.

Henrique is only leaving for an equal player (to clarify: top-6 offense, very good defense, plays both special teams, young and cheap, excellent playoff resume). And then you would have to add on top of that, because New Jersey has too much quantity and not enough quality, and making them move one of their top quality players will require overpayment.

Literally exactly what I thought when I saw the thread. Although knowing the Devils luck with developing forwards it would be Tedenby and Josefson 2.0

Not at all really. Tedenby's developing isn't the Devils management fault... He just can't get the defense-side of his game up to par for DeBoer to trust him yet. DeBoer said he looks better every time they see him, just his size hurts him. Either he gets his defensive game up or his offensive side ridiculously breaks out and makes up for his defensive deficiencies. He'll get to the NHL, it's just a matter of when and with who if it doesn't work out with NJ.

Josefson isn't bad, he's turning into a fantastic two-way center. With the loss of Parise and Sykora, we lost two top-6 forwards and our forward lines got all juggled around, causing our Carter-Bernier-Gionta to move up to be our 3 line (they've been fantastic) and with Zajac and Henrique there, who are obviously more offensive, Josefson got stuck to 4th line duty with tough guys. It's not the ideal situation but it had to be done. Josefson showed flashes of greatness and was given some opportunities to be a winger with Kovy, but his game is suited to be a center and the project didn't work as expected. It was better for his development to be sent down and get top line minutes in the AHL instead of getting 8-10 minutes with goons on your side. He'll turn into a great #2/#3 center with excellent defense and PK abilities. The rise of Loktionov makes our center situation a bit complicated but thats something we can figure out at a later date.

For Henrique to be moved to the Flames, I expect nothing less than Baertschi and Gaudreau. Henrique is a proven, Calder-nominee, high #2 center with the likelihood of reaching #1 center potential. He's essentially a poor mans Jonathan Toews. Baertschi and Gaudreau have great potential, but haven't proven anything yet. Devils fans feel Henrique is our future captain so we better get a worthwhile return if we moved him.

I thought this thread was for Henrique?

I mean arguably the Flames top 2 prospects, GlenX - very high trade value from Flames and what is panning to be a top 10 pick this year.

honestly Baerschi and Backlund arent even that good, just overrated because there in calgary where there is no other hope... These guys are like the Wellwood Steens and Stajans and Tlustys of the leafs when we were in denial rebuild mode right when Sundin left to vancouver... See resemblance?? They are both 2nd line players and always will be, and i wouldnt even want them as 2nd line players on my team tbh... Sven is not bad on the PP but i have no interest in him as a 5 on 5 player.

I have an old Joe Niewendyk sweater that I can put on Blake Comeau, would that count?
