I think Miller to Washington makes a lot of sense too. Another team not living up to expectations, high end talent, no top goalie. Trading for Miller would put life in that franchise. They need something to "bring back" Ovie, and a deal for Miller might do it.

Plus, I'd love their top ten 1st this year too!!!!

Don't see Washington doing it. They'd draft 3rd right now. Getting Kuznetsov over and drafting one of the big three will go farther in getting that organization turned around than acquiring Miller, possibly for only one season.

Philly is the only place I can see and really only because we take Bryz and Holmgren loves big deals.
Ed Snider is not afraid to use his Comcast uber-bucks to buy out Bryz if he has to. He's not going to give away assets like Couturier just to get Bryz out of his hair.

Miller for kuznetsov, and nuevirth

Stafford and a 4th to minn for a 1st

Pommer to Ottawa for bishop, noesen, 1st

Vanek stays

Let bishop, enroth, and neurvith battle it out

Kuz and grigorenko together.

3 1st round picks to rebuild

As far as Poms and Vanek are concerned, I'd be shopping them to someone like Nashville. They've been in need of first line talent since...Radulov? Forseberg? Kariya? And they always seem to be in the mix when there's a big-name forward up for grabs around deadline time. They've got plenty of cap space as well

Poms would seem to be a good fit due to his (usually) responsible play in both zones, and Vanek is a no-brainer.

Such a trade might be enough to secure a playoff spot this season. And if it doesn't, their pick next year will be mid-first or better. They've got an interesting prospect pool to pick through to boot.

GMGM beats up Darcy the next time he sees him for even offering this.

What do you think we would have to add? Kuz may not come to the NHL and nuervith is just bad. Maybe add a conditional pick if kuz comes over?

If the 'Peg is serious about adding RW scoring, they could very well be the final destination for Stafford. It would be more intriguing to see if Pominville would be of interest to them and try to leverage more in return.

Vanek strikes me as someone who will not age very well. I can live with Miller I guess, if he would stop being such a whiny *****. He might not have reached his peak yet (age curve wise). Pom/Stafford GTFO now please.

Do people still want to trade Nancy Drew?

11 points, team worst -10, is now a 3rd/4th liner on one of the worst teams in the league.

We should hold on to him and hope his value goes up down the road.

Or get rid of him for anything, guess I wouldn't care at this point. I'd be fine with a 2nd round pick and getting rid of his cap, the AHL guys look better than him at this point.

True, so there we go, not a single team for Miller

Get rid of him, he's an arrogant doosh and he makes this team worse with his attitude and play. Send him to Minny for Cullen or a pick.

Send Miller to anyone that we can get a good young goalie and picks/prospects for. Like Stafford, he's arrogant and runs his mouth. This team needs heart, not whiners.

Send Pom to the 'Yotes for Yandle, or to someone that can send us a young shutdown forward.

Keep Vanek, we need him here for when Armia comes over.

2 years down the road:

Vanek-Hodgson-Leino/Ott (Two-way possession line, if Hodgson's defense improves)
Foligno-Girgensons-Ott/Flynn (potential shutdown line)
Ennis-Grigorenko-Armia (Easy offensive minutes, tears it up)
Kaleta-Catenacci-Tropp (4th line with decent offensive talent)

Myers-Sekera
Yandle-Pysyk
McCabe/Weber-McNabb
JGL
(If these 3 lines can pull it together, this looks like an incredibly balanced Defense to me, seems like all of these guys are capable of great 2-way play)

New Young Goalie
Enroth/Mak/Ullmark
(Goaltending seems like the only question mark on this team. I could see a tandem being used.)

...Don't leave me hanging guys, missed a lot in lecture to type this up

Offer to eat some of his current contract as part of the new CBA and take back a salary to make it a net even or net gain situation for their bottom line.

So Miller (some salary retained) for Hanzal?

good point, because that is new, i did not think of that.

Who do we target back from PHX? Boedker? Gormley? and does that mean we have to do that at this deadline?

they can't afford 1 yr of miller at 6.25....

I think it's more likely he's traded at the draft... than at any trade deadline.

what kind of team makes it to the deadline as a contender... but goes out and acquires a goalie.... it's just an unlikely scenario

Yes, Miller (some salary retained) for a Hanzal jersey. That'll work, right?

Vanek-Hodgson-Toffoli - Skilled scoring line
Ennis-Grigorenko-Ott - ott protects and digs. Ennis back to wing left handed feeding grigs
Leino-Barkov-Armia - Fins with puck possession and finish (no pun intended)
Foligno-Porter-Flynn - Rochester line stays intact

We should try and get young D studs like Gormley for Miller or maybe Boedker +

There's a lot of maybes in that team, and some of them are really a stretch.
Even if they work out I don't really see them being better than other "up and coming" teams in the nhl.
