Expected a pay increase. I can live with that.

So it lets us around 6.8M of cap space for next season. If we sign White and Dumont to 750K contracts, it brings us down to 5.3M. Plus 1M for a backup goalie, that lets us 4.3M.

If we buy Kaberle out as expected, the number is back up to 8.5M... Plus Tinordi who could likely go back down in the AHL to round up his physical game, puts us to 9.5M to fill 2 roster spots...

Knowing that Bergevin looks like he likes to have some room under the cap, it would put us back to 7.5M - 8M to sign a d-man AND a forward.

This is something I can iive with.

I see this as a solid insurance policy signing. We can still bring up Tinordi next year and have Bouillon as a 7th D - and if Tinordi happens to need more time in the AHL or if one of our other Dmen gets injured, we can fill the gap with a very capable defenseman in Bouillon. It's only 1 year, too.

Weber and Kaberle have no future with this team and I don't expect either back next season, so right there that's 1 spot open for next year

It's a done deal as per La Presse

1,5M/1 year

I can live with that but it sucks for St. Denis

I now hope Bergevin doesn't get all excited and also extends Armstrong for 1 year

That's what I'm scared about. A guy like Dumont is ready to get some extended NHL time. It's useless to keep him around (Armstrong), as good a guy he looks to be.

I think that guys like Tinordi and other guys have passed him up on the depth chart.

Not the worst thing that can happen I suppose. As long as this means goodbye for Kaberle.

Bouillon as been reliable this year so far.
Helps with the kids.
Normally Habs = Injuries, great thing to have depth

Bouillion is a great defensive D-man.

A good leader for the younger ones like Tinordi and Pateryn.

And the most responsible on the defensive pinch.

I've seen Subban and Markov give up the puck quite a bit on the pinch
but Bouillion is very responsible there.

We had 11,8M before Desharnais, 8.3M before Bouillon, and now are down to 6.8M. It will go up as we will probably buy Kaberle out though.

It's for 1 year so i have zero issues with this signing. Cube is decent depth and if MB and MT believe that he help the kids both on and off the ice then it's a plus.

I wouldn't mind re-signing Armstrong for 1 year as the 13th forward either for the same reasons above. Having a good room and good character guys is important to a team no matter what the nay sayers will say.

I hope so.

Bouillon has been doing a good job on this team in lots of ways and deserves to be rewarded with a new deal, happy for him great professional.
