If he was on a cheaper contract I would think that he would get picked up, but now I think it's unlikely

Predators will claim him.

He can't be worse than Hannan and Gill.

Thanks everyone for the info. I figured he wouldn't be a PP point-man, but you never know; apparently Babcock is insistent on a RH shot from the back there.

Doesn't his cap hit remain at $3.75m while he's in the AHL per the new rules (and Capgeek)?

He shoulda been waived. He played NHL hockey at the start of the year and was never given a spot.....It's quite sad honesty, he played Carlyle type defense and actually looked affective. Not because I want his cap gone, but I hope he finds a team. Isles make too much sense for the hometown guy

I think some of you guys on hf forget how effective he is in the playoffs when shot blocking shut down D-Men can be quite useful....but the guy took some stupid penalties at stupid times, he does add toughness at being a punching bag for opposing heavyweights in this league.

Preds gave us Franson to get rid of Lombardi's 3.5M salary..why would they claim a 3.5M Komisarek?

That ain't true. Just because he is waivers does not mean he is not an NHL player, it's his big salary that puts his value down to gutter.

FTR, he would make the Oilers d-core any day of the week.

Good character guy for the Marlies. I REALLY wish it could have worked out with the Leafs. Wanted him to succeed here.

He kept a great attitude throughout the issues, and at least tried hard.

I wish Komi the best, and hope he rejuvenates his career. We all remember how useless Beauchemin was with us, yet he and Souray are the top two D in Anaheim, both with identical +19. Perhaps Komi will find a home as these two have, and play to his potential again. Really Wilson's style of run and gun was the worst style possible for Komi and I think that hurt his confidence some. He does bring some physical play to the table, and in the games he played before getting hurt, he was doing quite well for us. Good Luck.

This or Nonis finally convinced Komisarek that the AHL is a viable option as the Leafs will buy him out, and a strong AHL resume will help him get a contract next year.

You're implying that Nieuwendyk knows how to GM.

He isn't as bad as people think.

Guess he'd rather play in the AHL then sit in the pressbox in the NHL.

I wish him the absolute best; this guy has gotten so much hate in Toronto, when in reality, the games he's played this season, he's been good.
He trained, retooled, changed his attitude, remade his body, remade parts of his game and reconditioned this off season and it showed.

I'm still unsure why RC hasn't been playing him, but I really hope he gets claimed because he doesn't deserve to be sitting every single night, he deserves to play.

He was not bad in the few games he played this season. Some team will claim him and be happy with his performance.

NYI claiming him would be good, IMO. Hometown?

.
No thanks. Isles should be thankful he rejected their ufa offer and chose Toronto instead.

Isles have Carkner and Brian Strait to fill the stay at home d-man role.
