I think NYR fans can say something about great UFAs pickups...

Truth is if guy hits FA then his team does not think that he is good enough for salary he demands (in most cases).

What? Are you guys unaware that Komisarek was in the press box the entire time?

This has no bearing on the current team we ice.

Are you forgetting that Gardiner was in the minors for most of this season?

A monumental occasion in the Burke/Nonis era of leafs history. A thread to look back and celebrate.

I remember him being concussed ... and having ot recover - if thats what you're eluding to?

It would probably be wise to hold off any judgements on the Gardner vs Holzer situation until we actually see Gardner perform in this system for an extended period of time ... just my 2cents

No, I meant cleaning house in general, complaining that there were roster issues keeping Gardiner down. All they had to do was put Holzer in the AHL and Komisarek on waivers.

No idea why they waited so long for the Komisarek move.

If he doesn't get picked up his salary is still counted against the Cap even if he plays with the Marlies. Nothing has changed there are still several immovable contracts going forward.

If he had to recover, as you suggest, he wouldn't have been playing.

If Komi had a NMC - its up to him to waive it. Even if he was approached by management.

I was getting worried that Komi had already mentally retired from playing hockey professionally - seeing that he had zero chance of making the roster - was a permanent healhty scratch for over a year now ... yet still showed up to "work" every day with a smile on his face.

Some might call this professional - I certainly don't.

All they had to do was place Holzer in the AHL, something that Nonis refused to do until yesterday. Nonis and Carlyle are also the ones who kept Jake out of the line-up for Holzer.

So if he gets hurt with the Marlies and into the summer we can't buy him out?

Why didnt we just go the accelerated buyout route like the Rangers and Redden and MTL and Gomez?

He showed up against the Bruins last year when some more loved players put their tails between their legs and played dead.

It was a disgusting display from the so-called leadership on the team.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

Please elaborate... I bet Luongo hasn't been professional nor has Iginla if this is the precedent which you hold them to

There's a reason why most people consider their to be a difference in playing feilds between the AHL and NHL.

Yeah and I've been saying all along, they should have made "room" for Gardiner by cleaning house as they did for Kadri when they dumped Lombardi and Connolly. And they finally did that today, after falling two spots in the standings and losing five in a row.
