Oliver Ekman-Larsson gets a 6 year extension at $5.5M per.
Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger Ekman-Larsson. 6 year ext. 5.5 AAV

High-way robbery IMHO.

Damn, that's an amazing deal. I don't know how they managed that one.

But but but Phoenix doesn't have money and they need to trade him for Grabovski, Gardiner and a 2nd!

Most amazing stat of the year so far:

Patrice Bergeron has played 60:48 shorthanded this season and the Bs have not allowed a goal while he's been on. A full game.

He is my favorite player in the league.

PollakOnSharks 7:46pm via Web
ANA letting press box know "announcement is coming." Already out there: 8-year contract extension for Corey Perry.

So, that's what he did while he was suspended.....

Wonder how his and getzlaf's salary will affect Thornton and Marleau's new contracts after next season.

It shouldn't. Perry and Getzlaf are both 27. Thornton and Marleau are 33, and will be 35 by the time they re-sign. They could be looking for contracts to take them out to potential retirement, which should hopefully benefit us.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...sustr-dekeyser

25 NHL teams inquiring about undrafted defenseman Andrej Sustr. He may make a decision on his future by the end of the week.

There's also interest in undrafted Danny Dekeyser. He's currently waiting to see if his team is invited to NCAA championships (Sunday announcement). But he seems to drawn to Detroit.

Can't wait until Murray and Komisarek are a SJ defense pairing.

I think we should take a flyer on Boychuk, for a couple of reasons.

The first is that he is more talented than Kennedy and might be able to produce with the Sharks bigger players.

The second is that if we do waive him again, I doubt a 4th team will claim him, and he could certainly help Worcester.

We could have a 1st round disappointment line of Boychuk - Sheppard - Pelech.

I agree though, it couldn't hurt.

I wouldn't expect him to stay here, maybe just be a spark plug for a couple games, but I'd really like him to be in Worcester.

I agree. Then, we could actually bump Zus onto the I.R.!! He'd be a definite improvement and more versatile..

when someone is waived and then picked up by another team. i always thought that team couldn't put him back on waivers or trade him for a year.

Unfortunately for Boychuk, that is not the case.

Think you're getting different situations confused.

The only things required to pick up a player on waivers is a NHL roster spot, cap space and contract count space.

If a player signs an offer sheet, and the original team matches, the original team cannot trade the player for 365 days.
