Would rather it be SK, but oh well. I guess Carolina will get him back.

I would have preferred Butler on waivers because I saw a little glimmer of hope in Boychuk, but I would not be upset if both were gone.

Anyone who actually though that this guy was going to make a difference was kidding themselves. Also see Butler.

Trotz claim of change after the road trip named "road trip from hell" doesn't look like it is working out either this season.

I think you can claim a guy and have up to 10 days to take a look at him. If you waive him again, within 10 days, you aren't on the hook for $$$

Nashville Claimed Boychuk Mar. 5th, so if this is the case, then the window is bigger than 10 days.

One thing I was thinking about, He's got the potential to be on 4 teams in one season.

OTF speculates that it could be because they liked Beck's game and may keep him up. But does mention it could be someone from IR as well.

the waiver claims were primarily made to have extra bodies so people wouldnt get comfortable knowing there was a spot in them lineup for the every night.

Had he made some noise, or had the team improved, we might have kept him... as it is, I think this is a sign that Poile is throwing in the towel on this season and he's clearing room for some of the youngsters to come up for a taste of the bigs

WOW! I thought the kid did a decent job for only being here for 5 games. Was no worse then Yip, Spaling, and even SK along with maybe a few others. Showed some speed and spunk. I think sometimes Trotz gets his players he likes and doesn't see outside his own box. I wonder if SK gets back in the line-up after his 1 game benching?

thats how i see it too. He is done throwing **** at a wall and seeing what sticks. Hes tried to salvage the season, barely, but now its time to try our own guys in the lineup. Who knows they may go on a tear and be exactly what we need.

This preds team just needs to shed its skin, aka SK and Hannan, maybe a couple others, and we will be a great team again. We already have the hardest parts to get in Weber and Rinne.

I thought after you claimed somebody on waivers that you had to keep him for 30 days? Did that go away with the new CBA?

no, the 30 day rule always was you couldnt send them to the minors for 30 days

I think Im right in that by us waiving him before 30 days he is actually reverted back to his original team and if no one else claims him he can then go to the minor club of his original team. if we had kept him 30 days and then waived him, he would be ours and would go to milwaukee if he cleared

can someone confrim tthat Im right in this?

More or less, yeah. I believe Carolina still has that right on him, so they could claim him and, provided they are the only team that claims him, they could send him to Charlotte immediately.

This doesn't really surprise me at all. He's a 4A player who simply doesn't have the right tools to be successful at the highest level. I somehow suspect Butler isn't far behind.
