I don't like the Gardiner-Liles pairing at all.

Nonetheless, the Leafs have to put an end to the losing skid tonight.

Related to this week, what toughness left? Kostka and Holzer aren't exactly a bruizers. Although I must admit Komi didn't lose a single fight in the pressbox.

I don't get the blanket statement though. I don't think many wanted two non-physical OFD's TOGETHER. Some, myself included want both in the lineup, but I'd like to see Liles with Phaneuf as a test and Gards on the second pairing

Holzer is physical and plays the body.

Whenever he gets to the man which lately is rarely. I was a fan of Holzer and watched him quite a bit on the Marlies but he has to get his game back in shape.

Nevertheless, even when if he was playing well your comment is a gross overstatement.

Gardiner and Liles were a pairing last year, so why are people *****ing? Don't we want the Gardiner from last year?

Gross: flagrant and extreme
Overstatement: to state too strongly; exaggerate:

lol

I didn't even pay him a compliment. I described his style of play, I didn't say he was good 1 on 1, or he was a capable shut down d-man. I said he's physical (a lot of players can play physical, a lot of AHL players can play physical) and he plays the body, I never said he was good at it, or was able to take someone out of the play, but when he trys to play D, his first priority is the body, doesn't chase the stick or the puck.

Go leafs go!

Would the Leafs travel to Buffalo right after this game or tomorrow morning?

Just wondering the travel arrangement for a back to back road game that's so close nearby.

After the game tonight, usually. That's when we hear 'X team arrived in Y city at 3AM this morning'.

I think it's a League rule that you can't travel on a game day unless it's unavoidable.

You do realize that Gardiner played with Liles a lot last year right? They actually played very well together.

Buffalo is a different animal. They usually bus it to there I think.

Maybe my memory is off, but I recall Gardiner playing with Schenn and Franson most of the year.

In any case, I hope you're right about Gards and Liles playing well together. It just doesn't seem like a good idea on the surface.

You realize I'm talking about tonight and onward, not last season, right?

In the rare occasion he's actually in position to do so.

You are correct.

LUKE SCHENN JAKE GARDINER 15.95%
CODY FRANSON JAKE GARDINER 6.5%
DION PHANEUF JAKE GARDINER 3.68%
JOHNMICHAEL LILES JAKE GARDINER 1.94%

Courtesy of Left Wing Lock; barely played with Liles.
