- McClellin lacks strength to overpower NFL OL
- McClellin cant play vs run
- McClellin cant fall back into pass coverage

He is average 3-4 LB ,, Horrid 4-3 DE

Awful pick

Not sure he is an OLB fit in a 4-3 scheme and I don't see us changing to a 3-4.
Emery says a lot...

Think about a hybrid version like Von Miller plays. Emery keeps his cards close to the chest and you never get anything out of him until it happens. Still wait to see him signing 1-2 vets with the limited Cap Space

No one ever in the history of the NFL or any other sport has improved from the first year to their second. He is a lost cause and we are doomed. Woe is me.

NFL passed the crown of the helmet rule. People are making too big of a deal about this

@BradBiggs: #Bears have signed DE Turk McBride to 1-yr deal, first reported by @espnchibears and makes me curious if this affects Israel Idonije.

I think it's stupid and these officials won't be able to call it correctly at full speed. 15 yards for breaking a tackle.

This is it.

The refs will flag a runner for ducking and using his shoulder pads and think it's the crown of the helmet and call fouls all the time.

On occasion? Possibly. But they get it right most of the time when defenders do it. Will be no different

No they don't. They rarely miss the blatant ones, but they excessively throw flags on what are very clean hits/plays. If a defender approaches the ball carrier, keeps his head up, and doesn't launch himself that should be a clean play. There are so many circumstantial hits where the ball carrier moves at the last second that draw these bogus penalties. I hate the helmet to helmet rule as it does little to address the real problem.

The reality is most players are getting hurt on launching plays or when the defender clearly leads with the crown of his helmet. If they would have outlawed unnecessary launching and leading with the crown years ago many of these injuries simply wouldn't have happened. Defenders simply run to the ball carrier, lower a shoulder, and launch themselves without making an attempt to tackle whatsoever. Very few injuries occur on a facemask led helmet-to-helmet hit. Yet they go and outlaw helmet to helmet hits while taking the official's ability to use common sense completely out of the equation.

The NFL rules committee is a complete and utter joke and nearly every rule implemented in the last 5 years has either failed or gone a long way to ruin ruining the on field product. For instance the "clear control through the end of the catch" rule is retarded. So a receiver can catch a ball, fall to the ground, and have the impact dislodge the ball for an incomplete catch yet a runner can fall to the ground and not have the ground cause a fumble? Where is the consistency in that logic?

It's really not that hard (NFL).

The consistency is possession. A runner already had possession the control rule is establishing possession on a thrown ball.

Some folks didn't think this means we won't resign Izzy, but it will give us a bit more leverage with him. Frankly, McBride is going to have to try and make the team out of camp. If Izzy does resign, he might not. He isn't overly....good.

#Bears have offered CB Captain Munnerlyn a 1-year deal, per league source. #Panthers might try to match it.

Signing of Turk McBride doesn't diminish chance of Israel Idonije returning to the #Bears

I doubt McBride will be anything more than a camp body. Really hope we get Izzy back.

LM: #Bears unable to reach agreement with Brian Urlacher for 2013; both sides will move forward.

Yea this is all over Twitter now, and the Bears official Twitter account broke the news.

IMO the facts are this:

1) He hasn't resigned anywhere else yet
2) He hasn't generated a lot of interest in himself yet
3) The Bears don't have his replacement on our roster yet (or Roach's replacement)

I do believe that we will draft Roach's replacement in Rounds 1 or 2 of the draft (I'd prefer Greene in Round 2 personally). I don't know there is an ILB that we wouldn't have to reach for that will do a decent job for us this year.

IMO this is just an additional negotiating tactic by one or both sides. Until he's signed somewhere else, he can always come back and accept the Bears offer (whatever it is).

I'm not convinced it's over just yet. It's a long time until training camp.

Speaking of all of this, I had myself convinced on what I wanted the Bears to do in the first two rounds this year:

1) Draft Warmack or Cooper if either falls to us. (I think there's a 1% chance Warmack will, but a decent chance Cooper will).

2) If that doesn't happen, Trade down

3) If we don't have Trade Down offers, then draft Tavon Austin if he's there (slim chance)

4) Take Arthur Brown in the 1st.

Arthur Brown is a bit of a reach in the first, he would be better taken near the end of the 1st if we end up trading down, but he isn't that big of a reach there. Still, I'd MUCH rather see this team take Cooper because our interior line needs an upgrade BAD. We have ****** guards and an old Center. If we manage to land Cooper, then I would LOVE for us to take Khaseem Greene (who should be available in the 2nd). He would EASILY replace Roach this year, and would be Briggs's eventual replacement. Really solid pick. Then in the 4th, if we can get lucky enough to get Schwenke C/G, that would just be icing on the cake.

Think about it:

1st: OG Jonathan Cooper
2nd: 4-3 OLB Khaseem Greene
4th: C/G Brian Schwenke

Those are 2 immediate starters (probably 3) with Schwenke being Garza's replacement. I would kill for that draft.

This is another reason I think we still have a chance to sign Urlacher. We could benefit from him one more year, and get his replacement in next years draft.

Sad to see Urlacher go. He has been the heart and soul of this team for a decade and it's not like the Bears have his replacement ready to go.
