If they throw in a new Zamboni then done deal

Ok, serious note, why has no one brought up trading for Phil Kessel? (Haven't see anything about it could be wrong, if I am sorry) The Leafs don't want him anymore and the Sharks are looking for a scorer, 30 goal scorer could work. May have to trade a package built around Pavelski but would be worth the added offense. But it may take something else, maybe Clowe, prospects and draft picks (1st and 5th) it just depends on how tired the Leafs are of Kessel. In my opinion I kind of like the dude, seems to play well.

Leafs fans have. Sharks fans have not. About sums it up.

Kessel is a great complimentary piece to any Cup-contending team, but the price would be too high.

Leafs just brought it up today. Leafs fans don't even want to trade Kessel (with 1 year left) for Burns straight up.

Chances are, they won't take Clowe + picks.

Apparently Burns is an aging dman. HF's obsession with age borders on pathetic.

I was chuckling pretty hard when I saw the poster say that. Can't believe some people view 27 as aging. Especially for dmen.

hey here's the report: http://http://bostonglobe.com/sports...wxN/story.html

I don't know about Stafford, but I've heard that it would take an overwhelming offer to land Pominville.

I'm mistaken on Pominville, its a high price, but not overwhelming. Don't know the difference maybe it means that they won't ask for Couture.

That's very tenuous. It just cites "rumors in Toronto", and basically every player on the Leafs has been rumored to be on the move at some point. I'd be very, very surprised if they didn't give him a contract extension.

I know its Ek but if we could get Fillipula and Streit then keep Burns at forward and maybe pick up another Vet d-man as a rental...

Marleau-Thornton-Burns
Havlat-Couture-Pavleski
Fillipula-Gomez-Wingles
Galiardi-Handzus-Sheppard
Desjardin

Boyle-Irwin
Streit-Vlasic
Stuart-Braun/Demers
Vet Dman (not Wallin please..)

To Det:
Murray
Clowe

To SJ:
Fillipula
2nd round pick 2013

To NYI:
Braun/Demers
Galiardi/Wingles

To SJ:
Streit
+?

Say no to Mark Streit. Dude blows. Vishnovsky's the guy to go after of Isles vets, but we don't need him with Boyle.

I like the idea of getting Filppula.

Only issue is Detroit is going to want a lot for him and SJ doesn't have a lot to give. Plus another potential rental player is a huge turn off.

Yah I'm not super stoked about flip, or Streit, or Vishnovsky for that matter...

If we want another PMD it should probably be Ian White. He already showed good chemistry here, and he would be very inexpensive to acquire, and a very high likelyhood of re-signing (since he wanted to last time).

Forward wise, I still think our best trading partners are St Louis, NYI, Edmonton, maybe TO.
