Gotta say....the way they treat Nyquist feels eeeeire similiar to how Renney and Tambolini treated Omark 2 years ago....could Renney have something to do with this?

Doubt it, I think it is mostly Babcock. But that is an interesting mention and scary as hell if you're a Nyquist fan.

I'd love if Nyquist had like a 4-5 point night and made it so they had to keep him up.

Babcock would probably credit it to Andersson. Remember we all loved Tatar's production it would seem from reading the Babcock comments that was made possible by Andersson. Which is pretty funny for anybody who has watched these three for not only this year but the last couple.

I counter with Nyquist:

3 goals
1 assist.

with 4 min of ice time.

Babcock fired!

Seriously though: This will be a tough tight game.

Darren Helm is still out? That's ********. I was actually kind of exited for his return tonight.

I'm tired of this fire Babcock stuff and this whole abandon ship towards management in general.

I don't know that they will fire him or should, but he needs to be called to the carpet and explain some of the things he does. He certainly shouldn't be extended right now in which case he is going to resign (yes that is the correct way of putting it we want Filppula or Howard to re-sign people) in the summer and the writing is on the wall.

Coaches messages get stale, it is a fact of life. Holland has a couple years before he feels the heat. Babcock is providing this team with confusing tactics and line decisions all while making wishy washy statements in the press. You feel the other way fine, but this team is entering a transition and if Babcock isn't down than thanks for all you have done, enjoy the next gig. He is very good coach, but so was Randy Carlyle in Anaheim, so was Babs there. Coaches have shelf lives, he hasn't done enough lately to earn an extension and that is that. It isn't being mean it is being honest. If he doesn't want to develop the younger talent on this team or give them bigger assignments we have a problem.

I am looking forward to the game as usual, just really floored by the Nyquist comments today and a lot of what has been taking place. These guys are smart hockey men, but that doesn't mean they are infallible and should go unquestioned. Hope Nyquist has a three point night tonight and shuts Babs up a little.

By the way Datsyuk is good for one Suter undressing almost every time they see each other, but it probably was worth the extra 8 million and playing near his wife's home. Still going to enjoy seeing it. I don't hate the guy for doing it, just look forward to the look on his face when Datsyuk inside outs him.

Watching NHL Live on NBCSN- they were showing the pre-game soccer circle game played by a bunch of Wings. Babs came out of nowhere, yanked Nyquist out of the circle and then made him sit against the wall and watch the vets play. Super awkward.

Gotta make the kids earn their spot -- Meanwhile bums like Abdelkader and Cleary have a free ride to DO NOTHING, CONTRIBUTE **** ALL, and get paid $2 to $3M a year

Coach Loves Accountability, right?

Scotty Bowman played head games with Guy Lafluer and Sergei Fedorov and Brendan Shanahan to keep his veteran teams sharp.

Babcock plays headgames with rookies

Z or Datsyuk should have a field day with whatever guy doesn't draw Suter. Brodin is young and fun to watch but Detroit should be able to take advantage of the home change and force discomfort on Minny's backline.

No Harding, prayers with the guy really unfortunate. But their Red Wings kryptonite isn't in the net tonight. They seem to hide Backstrom from us for a reason, hoping we find that out tonight.

I'm praying this is sarcasm.

Edit: lol, was 99% sure it was, but could see it happen.

Given what he said earlier yes, in my mind while reading that I thought he did it to put Andersson and Lashoff in the circle.

Sorry guys, couldn't resist- it was the first thing that popped into my head watching the soccer game in the hall and thinking about Babcock's comments about Gus. And I'll say that around 85% of my posts are sarcastic, for those keeping score at home (just feel like using the ruins it though).

Seriously, Babs and his comments/actions has everyone wound up to the point where he could get caught on camera punching Gus on the bench, and nobody would really be surprised. Maybe just surprised it hasn't happened yet.
