Yes, no doubt about it. Personally I think he can be a 40-50 point guy in Year 1.

TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie has reported that 15-year-old Sean Day - a Canadian defenceman who plays for Detroit's Compuware Minor Midgets - has been granted exceptional status by Hockey Canada.

Nosad had a terrible year and the only other right wing is Hatcher. That's why Korostelev also makes sense.
Brassard as an OA would be a good option for RW.

That's what the Petes need. Scoring.

Yes. Windsor's pick will revert back to the 4th pick of every round 2nd-15th as per the standings.

The Petes' are the real winners of any team in all of this exceptional status sitaution.

The Petes also need a defenceman for the future.

We should be able to get someone good as long as Oke doesn't reach on a defenceman.

The Petes could lose Ritchie after next season, so a forward isn't a bad option either.

I'm just as interested at seeing who the Petes take with their second round picks. Lots of good defenceman should still be on the board.

I think they should go 1 and 1 with their second round picks (one F and one D) unless they can sign Caruso..

If they sign Caruso I'd like to see then take Gerhart and Baird in the second round

The "Day" has arrived. Seeing the 15 year old man-child in the OHL next season is going to be quite a scene, babe. I reckon he'll be the most impressive defenseman to play in the OHL since the late (Rest In Peace) Bryan Fogarty.

I don't think it's a stretch to say he'll be the best skater in the OHL next year. Anyone that's seen him in person knows this isn't hyperbole.

You will hear about this kid soon enough. I have him in as a possible first round pick early 2nd round. Depends how the chips fall. Could be anywhere from 15-30, it's that kind of a draft this year. He has the speed to play in your barn.

Can someone explain to me the talk about whether or not Strome will report?
Has he come out and said anything? What teams does he not want to go to?

Have you heard that they are going to sign Caruso? I'm not sure why they would.

To my knowledge he has not came out and said any specific team that he would not report to. He is more willing to report to teams than many in this draft.

I've seen Stephens named mentioned in almost every mock draft lately for Saginaw. Just wondering why? Is he that great a forward that Saginaw would pass up on a guy like Capobianco or Henley, which would address their real need, to go for Stephens? Among 95's and 96's, we are returning Lodge, Moutrey, Addison, Lindberg, Sadowy, Bratina, and Alexeev. Stephens or any other forward we would take with the 8th pick, better be freaking amazing if we do draft him, otherwise that's a waste of a pick.

If they add a rookie it should be a top draft pick, second rounder or Robinson who they signed. Not a small '95 14th round pick that didn't put up many points and has already had two cracks at making the Petes. Maybe we can continue this on the Petes page.

Theses are the rumour s that have been floating around for awhile. Saginaw have 2 picks in the second where they can still get quality D. It's not a top heavy fwd draft so teams will be looking to add the proposed top 6 Fwds. Konecney Strome Crouse Stephens and Mckenzie

Alot of teams interested in Mitchell Stephens. Teams before Saginaw are also interested. He will probably be selected outside the Top 5 though. His speed right now would cause problems for OHL teams to defend him, he reaches top speed immediately. He can counter attack with the best of the 97 class. Consistency issues might be there a touch with him as well.

I think Capo, Henley, Stephens have similar upside but I think that Henley might have more long term upside than both. If Stephens plays hard all the time, I.E. during the semi's and finals in the OHL cup, he would be a steal at #8. Last year playing up on occasion with the 96 Marlboro's, Stephens speed and acceleration were right up there with Hosang and Mcdavid.

I think the poster meant Lawson Crouse. Caruso (Soo Thunder) wont be selected in Round 1.
