Rationale: Tampa badly needs goaltending and also need some defensive help. Bishop is NHL ready and will be a better option than Lindback or Garon. Borowiecki is a good stay at home defensemen that could play in Tampa's 2nd or 3rd pairing. Ottawa does this as Bishop will never have the opportunity to be a starter, Borowiecki will most likely never be able to climb up Ottawa's defensive depth chart.
I actually like Bishop and feel Ottawa could get more but I'm not interested in him for the Lightning and if Yzerman were interested he could have easily beat Ottawa's offer with the amount of picks he had last year.
Why does everyone think Tampa "badly" needs goaltending? We are happy with Lindback, end of thread.
When you're losing 4 to 0 part way through the second in a critical game you're going to get questions raised about your golatending. I know only one goal is on Lindback but it looks to be an area of weakness right now.
I don't get why some Ottawa fans think the team doesn't want picks.
Second, having a 1A/1B goaltender situation is actually a good idea. Neither Bishop or Lindback is ready to start IMO. Giving them each 40 games is ideal. If one falters, you can play the other one. All NHL teams used to do it as the norm.
Third, Boro is worth more than a 3rd.
Four, Tampa fans, despite what I said in point two have no interest in Bishop and he's in every Sens trade proposal. We get it. He's available and Sens love Lehner.
