I Know he has is having a terrible year, but are people here really set on banking on an out of shape Richards and a mentally fragile Kreider to provide scoring if Gaborik gets traded???

I know the team needs a right handed shot on defense, but I think the bigger problem is scoring with this team.
I think the idea would be to add a top 6 LW and another player who can provide good depth scoring or a top 4 dman and a depth forward. For example:

Voynov + Clifford +

Kassian + Ballard +

Bogosian + Burmistrov

White/Filpulla + Tatar +

Etc.

The Kings would never trade their #2 D and best defenseman this year. So have no fear. I would be shocked if the Kings had even remote interest in Gaborik.

For a 40 goal, 80 point Gaborik I'm sure anybody would...

Voynov and Williams for Gaborik and a third.

Seems fair. Knowing Glen, he will work his black magic from the hospital and get us Voynov,Clifford, and Stoll

Never say never bro, you guys practically gave away Gagne and Loktionov for a 5th round pick.

What would you guys give for a player of Gaborik's caliber? He can even bring his F-1 racing simulator to Hollywood.

as long as a first round pick comes back in those deals, i wouldnt mind those packages. rangers should try to replace the first round that they traded for Nash. remember the Rangers need offensive depth help and they also in need of their own drafted superstar... alot of teams have those, Pens, Flyers, Hawks, Bruins etc.. it would be nice if the Rangers can draft their own 25 -30 goal scorer instead of buying or trading for them..

1st trade Kings won't do. Although I am intrigued by Clifford.

2nd trade no thanks. Ballard blows and carries a large caphit and isn't even RH or plays the right side. What use do we possibly have for him?

3rd trade the Jets laugh hanging up. They aren't going to trade Bogosian who is emerging himself as their high end defenseman this season. I would look into Burmistrov as the centerpiece however.

Would highly consider 4th trade because I'm in love with all Detroit prospects.

I have seen this said multiple times and I don't get it. McDonagh? Staal? Girardi? MDZ? Those 4 are easily worth 30 goal scores or very close to it. Stepan looks like a gem.

They have concentrated on their defense and it has been a success.

Am I the only one who doesn't want to get rid of Gabby? I still think he's going to pick up his game soon, especially playing with Nash.

The Kings gave away those players because they didn't finish their checks, they had no place on the team. LA values size and strength more than anything else, and I think Sutter especially dislikes guys who don't give their body up totally for the team. Even guys like Kopitar are dishing out big hits here in LA. That may be the wrong way to go about it, but that is the Kings way. I like Gaborik a lot, but I don't think management would have any interest in giving up quality assets for him. Especially a guy like Voynov who could play huge minutes for any team and be excellent.

There's also the matter of Gaborik's cap hit for next season which the Kings cannot absorb.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Kings and Canucks are the teams pushing the hardest for him IF he is available. Phoenix IMO is a dark horse IF they aren't on his list. Detroit makes sense from a talent standpoint and the fact that he would fit their system with Datsyuk.

Not the only one. It'll be a sad day for me when he inevitably is traded. High end skilled goal scorers aren't appreciated in New York. Need more grit, heart and testosterone.

They can if Stoll, Scuderi or Williams is involved or they have a separate deal set up.

If after all this time that is seriously what you think is why some of us want him dealt than I don't know what else to say....

Williams would be the one if such a thing was to take place, but that's still 4 million additional for next season the Kings aren't equipped to handle.

Lion Hound brought up an interesting idea:

Pyatt for Torres. Would help the Rangers for sure. They need someone like that. I wasn't in favor of dealing for him in particular but if it meant moving Pyatt I'm good with it. The bottom 6 is too slow and not effective physically

Hey brother. I can definately say Voynov will never be traded for Gaborik. Gagne and Loktionov never played important roles in LA, so it would be unfair to ask for the moon on these two guys. Gaborik salary is what kills any trade to LA. LA is not going to send none of their 5 mil guys for Gaborik. Sending anyone making less than 5 mil to the Rangers just would put us cap trouble with a bunch of holes to fill and add the fact that goal scoring is the least of our problems.

LA would be more interested in M Staal to replace Mitchel and/or Scuderi

Rangers don't HAVE to move Gaborik. They could simply resign our RFAs and use 5-6m after that for depth and take another chance at a cup next year with him. If u don't get what u want keep him that simple

im talking about forwards not defense.... imagine Giroux or D.Brown on the Rangers. they could have been if not for better scouting... Rangers need an impact player.. one that actually they drafted... that is how good teams win. Hawks (Kane, Towes)won with first or 2ed line young players that they drafted, same for Penguins (J.Staal), same with Kings (Kopitar) Bruins (Bergeron, Krejci,Seguin)...

Pyatt can join his boy Biznasty again and hit the casinos "in search of hookers and cocaine!"

They haven't drafted many forwards. And how many of those players you just mentioned were very high picks? Most of them.
