nothing on the stat line but I thought both guys were very involved in the play. Stastny not a great game made one nice play on that palushaj chance otherwise not dangerous on the offensive zone

Jagr was the best player on ice, by far imo.

Yeah, Kabasew was a +4. But Olver's 3 points after being a scratch for so long was huge.

I think the lesson learned here is that our GDTs have to be in French all the time.

I've really like Kobasew's game this year in his limited minutes. Chucky seems to have gotten faster this year. What'd I say about Olver? He's a good player. I have no qualms saying he's a much better hockey player than McLeod, as some one called me out on saying that earlier in the thread. He's got some good skill.

Will be interesting to see what the lineup is like next game. My guess is SOB is back in for Elliot. There's no way Olver is coming out after this game. Also doubtful Palushaj is out as he had a good game. It's going to be chippy out there so I'm guessing Bordeleau stays in. Hejduk might be out for McGinn. Jones probably stays out.

It was Olver and Kobasew who got us the win though. Not Landy with Duchene. Or PAP with Stastny. Or anyone of Saccos genius changes.

Olver SHOULD play every night, and I'm not just saying that now.

Hard seeing who will sit next game. With the way Dallas was playing this game, you probably want Bordeleau playing to keep things quiet. And Olver obviously won't sit.

Perhaps Palushaj out and McGinn in.

3rd period was a good example of what happens when you have centres with functioning 2-way brains. All of them kept breaking up passes and had good defensive plays.

I don't mean to sound like an Oilers fan *derp but RNH is such a good 2-way player blah blah* but honestly one of the reasons we win games like this is through the sheer talent of the centres when all of them show up.

Olver is Downie-light, put him back on that old Lando/ROR line and see how it goes.

agreed, way to make a statement, probably more impressive considering, but almost everytime kobasew was out there, he was wheeling, making plays happen, aggressive on the puck, wish he would play like that more often. other times he's been playing like jones of late.

I think a lot of people are forgetting the new draft system this year.

The only way we "miss out" or "come up short" for a top 5 pick is if we make the playoffs. All of the non-playoff teams have a chance at the top 5 pick.

i may get a bit of flack for this, but based on tonight's result, i would want duke to sit. pajamas is doing everything he can, hejduk has been more of a ghost at a frequent basis this season.

I think Kobasew forgot it's no longer 2007. Let's hope his amnesia persists.

Not a chance Palushaj sits, or should sit, he's nothing but pure energy and hustle out there, and its every shift, every night. If anyone is going to sit, its one of either McLeod/Bordeleau/Hejduk

Man,

Hejduk needs to take whatever Whitney and Jagr and Selanne are taking. Those geezers still got game.

With the way Kobasew is playing, we'll probably get a 3rd for him at the deadline.

I think all the 14 teams have a shot at 1st overall but the percentages are the same. Unlike last year when if say 14 won the lottery, they'd go to 9, now if they win they go to 1

I have to agree, even though I really like Hejduk. He was pretty awful today and probably deserves to get benched.

Okay, I didn't know that, but I would rather have #2 pick, because I want defenseman. Not Mackinnon.

Seems like the team just said after they saw how the stars were playing like little *****es...'oh yeah, take this...here's a contribution to your playoff push'. Nice to see. I fully expect we'll lose next game.

I half-expect Olver to be scratched.

I don't think that's accurate. The new thing about the draft is all non-playoff teams get a chance at the #1 pick. (Not top 5)

Ask him what his demands are, if it's too much, move him at the deadline. Just like they did with Winnik.
